General Surgery Posts Album, Tour Update

General Surgery recently posted an update on their much awaited follow up to acclaimed "Left hand pathology" and planned live appearances:

"Next up is Party-San in Bad Berka, Germany on Saturday August the 9th, and the weekend after that you can get your dosage of gore at the Brutal Assault Festival in Jaromer, Czech Rep. Our stage slots are still to be confirmed, we'll post them as soon as we know.

"Furthermore, we're getting closer to finishing the songs for the next album. We've got about 12 songs rehearsed, with 3 more written and ready to go. We'll keep on writing until the album sessions will start, so there might be around 20 songs to choose from for the album.

"This time, we're gonna shake things up a bit and work with a producer, namely the (in)famous Fred Estby of ex-Dismember fame. He'll be working with us in the studio, lending us a pair of very experienced ears, as well as during the pre-production phase so we can get a second opinion on the material.

"Sessions will commence in Offbeat Studio in the beginning of October.

"Some new song titles include Virulent Corpus Dispersement, Nephroblastoma, Carbonic Residue Conversion and Necrocriticism."

Here are the upcoming General Surgery live dates:

08-08-07/09 Germany/Bad Berka Party San Metal Open Air
08-08-16 Czech Rep/Jaromer Brutal Assault Open Air vol 13

General Surgery Working On New Album, Festivals

Malpractitioners GENERAL SURGERY have sent out the following update:

"First off, thanks to Raul who set up our very successful mini-tour of Spain last November. Also many thanks to all the bands we played with and all the people who came out to the shows, can’t wait to play in Spain again. Cheers!

"We played at the Grindfest 08 in Portugal recently and it was a complete success. Hope to come back soon and do it again!

"Speaking of shows, we’re confirmed for this years installment of the Party San festival in Bad Berka, Germany. More info at their website.

"In other news, song writing for the next album is progressing steadily. We’ve got about half of the album written and rehearsed, and a few more songs that are still developing. Looking to write even more material during the spring, and hopefully we can hit the studio in the summertime.

"As for now, it’s too early to say how the new album will sound, but so far the new songs leans a bit more towards the classic Swedish DM sound than pure grindcore. Maybe that will change as we progress with more new songs,we’ll just have to wait and see!"

General Surgery to Record New Album

Swedish grind band, General Surgery have issued the following statement regurading their upcoming album:

"The calm before the storm of gore is upon us, to use a trve metal phrase. Or something equally daft along those lines.
We've now booked studio time for December for our upcoming full-length on Listenable Records. If all goes as planned it should hit the stores three months later, around March/April. It should be a sanguine audio feast of the best of our old material (from our previous split releases, not Necrology... too bad) and a bevy of new material which should hopefully be equally awesome. If not, it's not our fault naturally.

It'll be recorded at Offbeat Studio, since we found that they are the most apt to give us the filthy sound we aspire for. Stay tuned for more updates as we can make them up.
In other news, the long-awaited split CD/LP with us and Butcher ABC is starting to take form. The CD will be released by Obliteration Records and the vinyl version by Living Dead Society Records. Expect it to be out some time later next year.

Beware of our foul stage personas on the European continent in October, more specifically the Bloodshed festival in Holland on the 22nd of October, along with Birdflesh, Gruesome Stuff Relish, Total Fucking Destruction and a myriad of other bands. Yay"
