I.C.S. Vortex To Release Solo Album

It has been announced that former Dimmu Borgir bassist and clean vocalist I.C.S. Vortex will be releasing a solo album in 2011. The debut album from I.C.S. Vortex, titled "Storm Seeker," is set to feature 11 songs as well as guitars performed by Jens F. Ryland of Borknagar and Steinar Gundersen on bass.

I.C.S. Vortex commented on the album by saying:

"Brewed in a dirty metal pot, ingrediens included are stoner rock mashed with black metal, '70s prog-spiked pagan and alternative roots fried Norwegian style. Some of the song titles are 'Skoal!', 'Dogsmacked', 'Oil in Water' and 'Odin's Tree'.

"It's been a year of sporadic work at Toproom Studio with engineer Børge Finstad. My good old teammate from Borknagar, Asgeir Mickelson handles the drums, and Terje 'Cyrus' Andersen added some solos. Mix was done by Børge, Asgeir and me. A record deal is in the works and we're looking at a release in good time before summer 2011.

"The solo project has pretty much evolved into a band, and on future live appearances the recording lineup will be joined by Jens F. Ryland (Borknagar) on guitar and Steinar Gundersen (Sarke) on bass."

Silenoz Checks In With Road Report

Dimmu Borgir's Silenoz has checked in with the following road report from the band's current European tour:

"Suomi Finland Perkele! After a rather quiet and almost pleasant ferry ride from Sweden over to Finland we are now approaching our last few shows on the European leg of the Darkness Reborn Tour, also appropriately dubbed Darkest Reborn Ever after the Prague incident.

"However, let's not go into details! Feels pretty weird that this first part of the tour has almost come to an end, it's been great fun and we have had some really awesome shows and the crowds have been nothing but amazing! Tonight's sold out show here in Tampere was another proof of that with 1500 devoted fans raging, simply incredible! Playing Finland once again reminds us of why we always keep coming back and why we share a special bond since the very first time we played here - thank you!

"Touring with the Enslaved and Sahg guys has been a real pleasure and it makes us proud and content to be around such professional musicians and share the experience but also the fact that both bands kick serious ass every night! More...

Dimmu Borgir Checks In From The Road

Dimmu Borgir is currently on the road with Korn. Guitarist Silenoz has checked in with the following road report:

"So, we have now been on the road for several days through Europe, played quite a few shows already and things are starting to settle in pretty well. We have done both headline shows and support for Korn and it's a great feeling for us being back on stage after a 1 year long hiatus from playing live.

"We are not only grateful but also quite impressed by how the new material has been welcomed by our devoted fans! Also the many new faces in the crowd seem to be have their curiosity satisfied.

"Day off today on our way to Luxembourg for our very first time playing there tomorrow. We hit Zagreb in Croatia last night and it was great chaos! Our truck got stuck at the border because of an ongoing strike which made for an extremely late show but thanks to our professional hot sauce crew (incl. the local one), patient and understanding fans not to mention great sets from our friends in Triptykon and Noctiferia the night turned out to be what we consider a successful one; with great anticipation - great energies are being released!"
