New Nile Album Available To Stream Online
MP3.com is streaming NILE's fifth studio album, "Ithyphallic", in its entirety for seven days prior to the album's North American street date of July 17 at http://www.mp3.com/artist/nile1/summary/
Engineered by Bob Moore and produced by Neil Kernon (CANNIBAL CORPSE, NEVERMORE, DEICIDE), the CD was recorded at Sound Lab Studios in Columbia, South Carolina.
In a Decibel magazine article penned by journalist Rod Smith, guitarist/vocalist Karl Sanders provided the background story for the song "Papyrus Containing The Spell To Protect The Possessor From Attacks From He Who Is In The Water", which debuted on the official Ozzfest web site on June 6. "It's from 'The Book Of Overthrowing Apep'," he said. "There's a spell in there, a chant that's supposed to stop crocodiles from attacking your boat. I tried to picture it and thought, 'Your boat's being attacked by crocodiles. Are you really supposed to dig out your scroll, fumble through it, find the right chapter, repeat the words, and the crocodiles are gonna leave you alone? When the croc is about to bite you in half, are you gonna be able to find that chapter fast enough?' It's a ridiculous concept. I found myself thinking, 'This song needs to have the words said as fast as possible.' We decided this song would be frantic, fast as anything we'd ever done, with the words super-frantic fast, for that 'trying to escape from the jaws of the crocodile' feeling."
Exclusive Nile Single Available from Nuclear Blast
NILE's three-track single will be available for exclusive download at Nuclear Blast's European Music Shop on June 22nd.

2. Laying Fire Upon Apep (Rehearsal Track) (3:32)

Engineered by Bob Moore and produced by Neil Kernon (Cannibal Corpse, Nevermore, Deicide), Ithyphallic, NILE's fifth studio album, will be released in North America on July 17th and in Europe on July 20th. NILE are confirmed artists for Ozzfest 2007's Second Stage and will be headlining off-date shows with Chthonic and Daath.

New Nile Track Posted On Ozzfest Website
Nile's new track "Papyrus Containing The Spell To Preserve Its Possessor Against Attacks From He Who Is In The Water" (for serious.) has been made available online over at www.ozzfest.com. The band will release their new album "Ithyphallic" on July 17th through Nuclear Blast.
Daath Plan Remix of "Dead On The Dance Floor"
DAATH has concocted a cocktail of metal’s most eclectic elements. The band will be releasing an exclusive remix of “Dead on the Dance Floor,” a track from their debut Roadrunner release, The Hinderers, via digital EP this summer. The track was remixed by Danny Lohner, ex-NIN and A Perfect Circle, and is due out in July. Daath guitarist and co-founder Eyal Levi states: “At some point in our lives each member of Daath has done their time with Nine Inch Nail’s music. They are a huge part of our musical upbringing and collaborating with one of their main minds is an honor that we are very excited about.” Describing their sound as “versatile,” Daath stray away from a traditional approach to death metal – weaving deep pockets of groove with electronic nuances, making a remix by Danny Lohner a natural progression for the band.
Having just completed a sold-out UK tour alongside metal juggernauts Unearth, Job For a Cowboy, and Despised Icon, Daath has returned to conquer North America.
Daath will hit the road on June 2nd and will tour through August 30th, showcasing their bombastic live show throughout North America. Their touring journey will begin as part of The Summer Slaughter Tour, featuring a bounty of respected extreme metal acts such as Necrophagist, Decapitated, Cephalic Carnage and Cattle Decapitation. Following Summer Slaughter they will play a string of select dates with Dying Fetus, Psyopus, and Covenance, until launching into this year’s Ozzfest. Daath will dominate the second stage with fellow underground acts such as Nile, 3 Inches of Blood and Chthonic and will be playing select Off-Fest dates with Nile. “This is a breakthrough time for extreme music,” Levi says, “Ozzfest has begun to pick up on the value of underground, truly extreme music. For us it’s not only a great honor, but also a huge opportunity to see how much we can help push the genre.”

Karl Sanders Talks About New Nile Album
In an article posted on the official Nile website, guitarist and vocalist Karl Sanders spoke about Nile's upcoming release, and what it was like working as a part of the Nuclear Blast family:
"We have finished the mixes and Mastering on the new NILE album, entitled 'Ithyphallic', our first album for Nuclear Blast [Records]. So far we have been nothing but thrilled to work with the entire cast at Nuclear Blast; they have treated us exceptionally well and have given the band a ferocious and inspirational new lease on life. Dallas [Toler-Wade, guitar/vocals], George [Kollias, drums] and I are convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that this new record contains our best material yet, and Neil Kernon [producer] worked overtime to ensure that every single blasphemous note is heard in all its primal savagery."
"There are nine songs and one short acoustic piece, two of which are epic length songs, yet overall a wide range of tempos, some doomy, exotic elements as well as some unbelievably fast and catchy metal. A few songtitles: 'Language of the Shadows', 'Even the Gods Must Die', 'The Infinity of Stone', 'Ithyphallic', 'Papyrii Containg the Spell to Preserve its Possessor Against Attacks from He who is in the Water'.
"We are, as could be expected, very much looking forward to our upcoming Australian tour. Our last trip down under went exceptionally well and we can't wait to play again for the rabid Aussie metal fans.
We will also indeed be bringing the NILE brand of Ithyphallic metal to the uninitiated masses at the summer Ozzfest, and, quite welcomely, playing our own NILE headlining shows for the off Ozz days.
We are also anxious for the European NILE fall tour that is in the works where we will finally be able to play a nice long NILE set covering a wide range of material from all our albums."
Ozzfest 2007 VIP Ticket Plan Revealed
It was announced months ago that tickets for this summer's Ozzfest would be free to fans, and that the longest-running heavy metal festival would subsist on corporate sponsorships and little else.
But obtaining those free tickets for one of the dates on this year's run — which kicks off July 12 in Auburn, Washington, and continues through August 30 in West Palm Beach, Florida — might just give some metal fans a migraine.
First, you have to send an e-mail requesting tickets, and then wait for a confirmation e-mail containing a link to the Web site of one of the tour's various sponsors. Next, you have to wait until June 12 before you can enter that code on some other Web site to redeem two tickets to whichever date you'd like to attend. It's a whole rigmarole that some fans — or, more specifically, those willing to drop some serious scratch — can avoid.
That's right, folks — while this summer's Live Nation-sponsored Ozzfest will be free to most, some will fork over upward of $1,000 to get in. As in years past, Ozzfest's organizers will offer fans a number of VIP ticket packages for purchase, which will ensure them a seat for all the headbangin' action.
The festival's "Party Like a Rockstar" package — which includes preferred pavilion seating, access to the second-stage VIP viewing platform behind the mixing boards, access to the general VIP area, a behind-the-scenes tour and a special host "to help you rock harder than you have ever rocked before" — returns this summer, and will set you back $300. There's also the "I'm Part of the Show" package, which costs $666 and includes all the same perks, in addition to a seat on the Ozzfest stage during Osbourne's concert-closing set.
There's also the "Platinum" package, which will be available by auction in the not-so-distant future. The starting bid will be $1,000 and will be limited to only 10 guests per show. This offer includes everything the "I'm Part of the Show" package does, and then some. Fans who win the auction will also get a personal meeting with Osbourne and his band, along with a certificate signed by Sharon Osbourne. The proceeds of these tickets will go to the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
The festival's 12th annual installment boasts a bill including Ozzy Osbourne, 3 Inches Of Blood, Ankla, Behemoth, Chthonic, Circus Diablo, Daath, Hatebreed, In This Moment, Lamb of God, Lordi, Mondo Generator, Nile, Static-X and The Showdown.
The 24-city 12th annual OZZFEST will launch July 12 in Seattle, WA at the White River Amphitheatre. Here are the tour dates: More...
