Nile Cancel Tomorrow's Show In Chile
NILE have been forced to cancel their upcoming February 20th show in Santiago, Chile. They have issued the following statement:
"The promoter has, at the last minute, refused to pay the band as agreed. The band is VERY disappointed, and if there was ANY way to still put on the show, I assure you they would do it! It's just not possible for them to fly the whole band and their gear to and from Chile, play the show and handle all living expenses out of their personal bank accounts. We hope the opportunity comes again for Nile to play in Chile, as they were very excited about this show. Please understand that if there was any way for Nile to still do this show they would do it in a heartbeat. We all sincerely apologize to the fans who have patiently waited for Nile to come to their country." More...

Vader Announce Special 25th Anniversary Show
Death metal legends Vader have issued the following announcement on their official website:
It's going to be the loudest anniversary! 25 years on death metal scene, what a great result! Only few bands were able to survive for so unimaginable period of time. Among them there's a Polish death metal band Vader! Massive Music - band's management and booking agency is going to celebrate this great anniversary with a special concert. The show will take place in Warsaw, at Stodola Club on 30th of August.
"Hopefully the venue will be completely packed this day. There are at least a few good reasons to come to this special show. You will see a bunch of famous metal guests, also bands that in the 80's together with Vader created extreme metal scene. The guest-list we've created is quite impressive. Unfortunately, some of them can't appear on the show due to their other obligations. Some of them are maybe too big to be a part of this, I would say- pretty uncommercial event. That's also why we decided to organize this anniversary at Stodola Club, it will be a show for most dedicated Vader's maniacs. Anyhow, you can expect a great package! " (Mariusz Kmiolek - Massive Music)
First bands confirmed for this show are Grave (Sweden), Nile (US), Rotting Christ (Greece) and Krisiun (Brazil). More special guests of Vader's anniversary gig will be announced soon. Another good reason to come to the show is of course Vader! The band will play over two-hour liveset, presenting songs from old demo tapes as well as Vader's famous hits from recent studio albums. The show will be filmed for an anniversary DVD release tentatively called "XXV" (to be released in 2009).
"This time we can promise you a very special release. We don't want to screw up things as it happened with our latest DVD. To refresh the entire concept of a metal DVD we decided to work with people who have never filmed a metal show. They have a great experience in making videoclips, TV programs, advertisements and other things. Those fresh ideas blended with our visions will guarantee something really special. The DVD will feature not only a show, but also a lot of backstage footage including many surprises." (Mariusz Kmiolek - Massive Music)
Exclusively for this day Vader will prepare not only a special live set, but also a special stage design and some other surprises. On the anniversary party you will see also some other famous guests from a music industry. The band is going to launch a special anniversary website. Be prepared for XXV anniversary of Vader!
Unexpect Check in From Trail of Tears Tour
Montreal's "classical/black metal" act UNEXPECT has issued the following update:
"We already finished our first week of touring in the U.S. and all is going well! ECHOES OF ETERNITY and TRAIL OF TEARS are great guys to tour with and we can assume that the coming month of non-stop touring with them shall be an enjoyable one. The show we were supposed to do yesterday in Hartford has unfortunately been cancelled but you can be sure we'll be back eventually to give you a dose of musical wickedness."
"The legendary Quebec TV show 'Les Francs Tireurs' decided to dedicate one of their show to the Quebec metal scene and will pass a day with us, filming our next show in Montreal at the Foufounes Electriques on next January 23!! For those in the Montreal area, come in great numbers and let's show them a good slice of madness!" More...

Nile Frontman Issues Update
NILE frontman Karl Sanders has issued the following update from the road:
"We recently finished a four show run in Finland, so we were holed up for some r&r in a small town in Holland. The Finnish audiences were amazing - total metal fiends. So, we were anxious to play after resting a few days! Today was day one of the Metalfest Tour with SIX FEET UNDER, FINNTROLL and BELPHEGOR. This show was in Saarbrucken Germany and everything went reasonably well for a first day. There was
no time to get any prep work done, but the show kicked ass anyway. The audience was very generous with their appreciation, which made us feel very welcome. Fuck Yeah. Cant wait for tour to get into full gear, so we can Impale audiences across Europe with some Vicious Ithyphallic

Nile To Film "Papyrus" Video Tomorrow
South Carolina's NILE will shoot a video for the song "Papyrus Containing The Spell To Preserve Its Possessor From Attacks From He Who Is In The Water" tomorrow (Sunday, November 18). The clip, which is rumored to feature live Nile crocodiles (Crocodylus niloticus), will be directed by Juan "Punchy" Gonzalez (producer for such acts as MORBID ANGEL and TERRORIZER).
On August 21, 2007, when NILE played an Ozzfest one-off show at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City, guitarists/vocalists Karl Sanders and Dallas Toler-Wade were invited to stop by Metal Kult's Manhattan headquarters for an in-depth question-and-answer session about their new album, "Ithyphallic". The two technical death metal shredders accepted, and, axes in hand, showed up ready and willing to talk about their exotic gear, Egyptian themes, the benefits of scalloped frets and a fretless guitar, and why they believe NILE's music is more important than their image. View the video here. Karl Sanders also gives an in-depth description of his guitar technique in the new, January issue of Guitar World and is included on the Guitar World DVD with a "Betcha Can’t Play This" feature.
