"some music was meant to stay underground..."

70000 Tons of Metal - The World's Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise

Formed: 1999
From: Austin, TX, United States
Last Known Status: Active

At the end of 1999, the members of Acerbus were in their previous bands feeling restraint, boredom and a desire to move on. Those feelings were lost when the members rehearsed together for the first time instantaneously creating a blizzard of unique and obtuse extreme metal. Taking the ideology of extreme music as a whole a step further and using any technical influences from outside the metal genre, Acerbus created something truly unique.

Acerbus is an extremely fast, technical, brutal, obtuse and abstract look into the future of the extreme metal genre. Acerbus pummel and perforate a code of explosions while excreting alternate instantaneous glimpses of silence at the most inopportune times causing a disturbing level of destruction to the architecture of the mind. Acerbus' essential constructs are modal fragments and leveling, blasting, degenerate expression riff shaping and abstraction of percussive emphasis, a recipe that would prove to intrigue anyone even vaguely interested in the extreme metal genre as a whole.

Acerbus are three musicians who look beyond the "boundaries" of music and are determined to use their unique sound that’s "hard to classify but easy to identify" to prevail as extremely successful or simultaneously disturbing and expanding at the least.
