Sargon Working On New Album

Sargon has checked in with the following statement about working on a new album for release next year:

"Our second full length album is going to be officially released by newly-formed Texas based label The Metal Den Records. We are currently in the process of writing the new tunes, and you can expect the new album to be out in early 2014.

"We are excited to be working with Mr. Rocket Cody (owner of TheMetalDen.com), for he's always been nothing but a straight shooter with us, a big supporter, and most importantly, he's always believed in our music.

Sargon Streaming Judas Priest Cover

Phoenix, Arizona death/thrasher Sargon covered the Judas Priest classic “Hell Bent For Leather,” which can now be streamed below.

In addition, the band has started the writing process for the follow-up to “In Contempt,” released in 2011 by Old Cemetery Records.

Sargon is also welcoming the addition of lead guitarist Jack Fliegler and drummer Michael Ohlson, who stepped in for former drummer Rickard Stjernquist after he decided to focus on his main band Benedictum and other projects. The band is thankful for the work Rickard put into Sargon’s 2012 EP “The Bitter End” and wishes him much success in all his endeavors.

Sargon Finishes New EP

Sargon has issued the following update about finishing the band's new EP:

"Sargon are proud to announce that we have completed work on a new EP entitled 'The Bitter End' recorded at Ryan Arcane Digital Recording Studios in Chandler, AZ under the production of Ryan Butler (Exhumed, Misery Index, Landmine Marathon).

"This marks the first Sargon release with bassist Kelly Conlon (Death/Monstrosity) and new drummer Rickard Stjernquist (Jag Panzer) who is based in Phoenix, AZ with the rest of the band. Also, we have once again recruited the services of Panamanian guitar virtuoso Rod Denis who recorded lead guitar tracks on our full length debut album 'In Contempt' out on Old Cemetery Records 2011.

"The Bitter End EP will be a digital release and will be released Tuesday April 24, 2012. The EP will be available on Itunes, BandCamp, Amazon MP3, and all other digital retailers for download on the 24th." More...

Sargon Recruits Second Guitarist

Guitarist/vocalist Frank Van Kwarte of Sargon has issued the following announcement about recruiting a second guitar player for live shows:

"It's with great pleasure that I announce the addition of Arizona's own Jack Flieger (Singularity) as a touring member who will play the second guitar with us at The Goregrowler's Ball Fest in San, Antonio Texas on November 18th, 2011.

"We are very grateful to Jack for helping us out with this show because it's our intention to reproduce our debut album from start to finish just how it's recorded, and we really do need two guitars to to that!

"After a few rehearsals with him, I can surely say that he'll blow a few minds in Texas."

Sargon Recruits New Bassist

Phoenix, Arizona's Sargon has announced the addition of bassist Kelly Conlon (Ex-Death/Monstrosity) to its official recording and touring lineup. The band now features:

Frank Van Kwartel: Guitar and Vocals
Alex Marquez: Drums
Kelly Conlon: Bass

Sargon performed live in the U.S. for the first time on Sept 23rd, 2011 at The Goathead Saloon (in Arizona) on the date of its debut album's “In Contempt” official release by Old Cemetery Records. Footage of the release show is available here.

The band is currently working on new material for an EP scheduled to be released in early 2012, and will perform at this year's Goregrowler's Ball Fest in San Antonio, Texas on November 18th, 2011. More details on Sargon are available through the band's Facebook profile.
