Lost one of my best friends, Lemmy, today. He will be sadly missed. He was a warrior and a legend. I will see you on the other side.— Ozzy Osbourne (@OzzyOsbourne) December 29, 2015

Following a statement by guitarist Blake Meahl clarifying the band had not broken up (prompted by various metal sites reporting that was the case), front woman Jill Janus has now issued this update about remaining with Huntress:
"Back to business! Yes, I am still the singer for Huntress. I've seen some heavy shit, but so often the things I say or do are misconstrued even by those closest to me.
"It is the end of an era for Huntress, we completed our trilogy, writing one album a year. I look forward to writing more Huntress records, and working on new musical projects I've been developing. The best is yet to come!" More...
Last night Huntress front woman Jill Janus posted a status update about her frustration with health issues and online trolls, leading several sites to prematurely report that Huntress had broken up. Guitarist Blake Meahl has now issued the following statement clarifying the situation:
"Our vocalist Jill Janus posted an announcement last night that she was having difficulty dealing with devastating health issues. Four months ago she had major surgery to remove cancer from her uterus.
"She needs time to fully recover from her hysterectomy and to continue treatment for her mental health issues. Her bouts with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and disassociative identity disorder have been particularly difficult lately and are ultimately responsible for her unfounded statement last night.
"We will resume touring in December when Huntress joins Black Label Society 12/26-12/31. Thank you for your kindness and understanding."

After openly discussing her mental health issues and bout with cancer, Jill Janus and the Huntress crew will soon release third studio album "Static" - due out September 25 through Napalm Records.
The new single "Flesh" premieres today with a stunning lyric video, available below. Huntress vocalist Janus comments:
"'Flesh' is catchy and hard rock, it's lusty and bloody, a blackened-party metal make out song. When my bandmates brought me the killer composition, I wrote the lyrics as my storyline unfolded like bizarre film noir. A female serial killer who would transform into a demonic seamstress, preying upon women. She desires their flesh for fashion. Once again, I've collaborated with the immensely talented Vance Kelly to bring my story to life. Our telepathic artistic connection has created a twisted romantic lyric video for a summer of lust. Enjoy!"
The new Huntress record was produced by Paul Fig (Grammy nominated engineer, Alice in Chains, Deftones, Trivium, Ghost BC) and Jim Rota (Fireball Ministry, Emmy nominated Executive Producer of the Sonic Highways series, Producer Sound City Movie). Pre-orders are now available through PledgeMusic here. More...
The Swedish visual masterminds from Avatar have announced a new batch of U.S. tour dates starting this fall.
The dates will serve as the last time the band sees American soil while supporting the "Hail The Apocalypse" record. "We are heading towards the final curtain call of the apocalypse," says frontman Johannes Eckerström.
The band plans to begin work on a new album at the end of the year, with a release planned for 2016. Eckerström continues, "The hymns will be played one more time before we close this chapter and you need to be there. Destruction and decay is best viewed from a front row seat and as always, we intend to mix things up bring the freaky in ways we haven't before."
Support will come from Huntress, Gemini Syndrome, and First Decree. The new Huntress album "Static" will be released on September 25th, 2015 on Napalm Records. More...
Huntress is gearing up to release "Static" on September 25th via Napalm Records, and in a new interview with Revolver, vocalist Jill Janus reveals her lifelong struggle with Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Earlier this year, she was also diagnosed with Stage 1 uterine cancer in the midst of recording the new album. Janus is now cancer-free due to a hysterectomy performed two weeks ago.
In an excerpt from the interview, she explains why she's been hospitalized this year: "Once a Huntress album is done, it's almost like I slip into a postpartum depression. Being bipolar and schizophrenic, I have to be hospitalized so I don't hurt myself or anyone else around me. It can be very dangerous."
She also explains sensing there was something wrong before being diagnosed with cancer: "During the process of writing and recording our third album, I began to feel like something bad was growing within me...I had a procedure, and my doctor found early stage cancer in my uterus."
Janus is now recovering from a successful surgery at home, commenting, "I was encouraged by my bandmates to take my struggle and weave it into songs on the new album. When I formed Huntress, I was concerned with the stigma surrounding mental illness, especially for women in the music industry. But I've accomplished so much in just a few years. Writing one record a year, touring relentlessly and attempting to maintain my sanity has been, at times, very painful for myself and those close to me. Yet I've proven anything is possible if you truly believe in yourself. Speaking out about my mental illness and cancer diagnosis has given me a chance to encourage others to live for their purpose and not be held back by their illness. The vultures can wait." More...

Vocalist Jill Janus comments: "The evolution of Huntress bleeds into 'Static' our third and most prolific album. It is the heaviest and catchiest record we've written. The process of writing and recording was new and exciting, at times very difficult for all involved, having to record in between relentless touring. Never have I been so honest in my approach to songwriting; I reveal life-long personal obstacles that I previously feared weaving into my lyrics. I'm so pleased to reveal the cover art for 'Static' by my treasured art warlock Vance Kelly. Hail Heavy Metal!" More...
