Every Time I Die Working On New Album

Every Time I Die has posted an update on their recording plans and more:

"We here at EVERY TIME I DIE have a lot on our plate for the upcoming year and I feel we owe it to everyone to reassure them that just because we've been away for a while does not mean that your fictitious rants on myspace about how we "hung out" and "got wasted" and are now "best friends" because I showed you my "genitalia" are permanently cut short. We've been holed up in a basement in North Tonawanda writing what will easily prove to be the best record ETID has crafted since "Gutter Phenomenon". In early March we head to California for two months to lay down these tracks with Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Deadguy, Story Of The Year, Lifetime, etc…) to be released this summer on FERRET MUSIC. And since we have come to accept the fact that we simply cannot hold on to ONE bass player, expect some help on the recording from a good friend of ours whose name I cannot yet disclose from a band whom I am also prevented from disclosing at this juncture. Intrigued yet??? I know I am".

"After recording we jet to Australia with Norma Jean from June 1st thru June 15th before returning countryside to and hit the U S festival circuit to tour throughout the summer. Keep your eyes peeled for more information coming shortly. Our publicist doesn't know how to keep their mouth shut"

"Perhaps the biggest piece of news and the one that will undoubtedly sound questionable due to the sheer "what-the-fuck"-ness of it all, is that we are in development with FAST SHOES PRODUCTION and THE ENDEAVOR AGENCY (a Beverly Hills based talent agency representing Tina Fey, Jude Law and Adam Sandler, to name a few) along with several possible networks to film a reality based mockumentary-esque sitcom starring EVERY TIME I DIE and self proclaimed "Metal Dork" BRIAN POSEHN (Mr. Show, Jesus Is Magic, The Devils Rejects). We are in the third stage of development out of a possible 400, but things are coming together smoothly and while recording we will be meeting with networks, Posehn and Fast Shoes to begin the writing process."

"Check everytimeidie.com or myspace.com/everytimeidie for updates beginning in March, and then check your pants for shit."

"We will see you all very soon, and we are breathlessly awaiting giving you an awkward hug while your friend takes a poorly lit photo with her camera phone. If you feel you need even MORE of my long-winded diatribes, you can find "The Classics According to Keith" every month in ALTERNATIVE PRESS magazine."

Every Time I Die Confirm New Bassist

Every Time I Die recently parted ways with bassist Chris Byrnes and have now confirmed that his replacement is none other than rumored former The Chariot bassist Keller Harbin. The band spoke to MTV about the departure, saying:

"Our bass players are like Spinal Tap's drummers: They just spontaneously combust, We had gone over a year with the same bass player, and that just doesn't happen in our band. If he didn't quit, we probably would have killed him and eaten him."

But apparently, the decision was due to money issues. While Every Time I Die resides in Buffalo, the ex-bassist lives in much-less-affordable New York City. Frontman Keith Buckley explained:

"He really couldn't afford it on our touring schedule and salary, He got a job offer at salary with another band doing sound, so he took that."

He declined to name the band Byrnes has joined. The band promptly replaced Byrnes with Keller Harbin, who, along with Joshua Beiser, left Christian metalcore act The Chariot in June.

ETID Bassist Comments, The Chariot Replaces Him

As previously reported, Every Time I Die bassist Chris Byrnes has left the band, playing his final show with ETID this past weekend in Michigan at Dirt Fest. The latest rumors suggest that Keller Harbin, formerly of The Chariot, has subsequently taken his place.

Lambgoat contacted Byrnes yesterday and he confirmed his departure and had the following to say:

"The split was amicable, but something that I had to do. For the sake of not stirring up controversy I won't go into the details. All I can really say is that it was not an easy decision to have to make. I truly wish those dudes well and know that the success that they achieved prior to and during my time with them will only continue."

Sounds Of The Underground DVD Info Revealed

Last year marked the inaugural Sounds of the Underground tour, which saw 17 of the best and most brutal metal acts around traverse the U.S. and Canada in what proved to be a very successful alternative to the more commercial Ozzfest. The tour hit the parking lot of the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, NJ on July 2nd, 2005, and with it came almost 5000 fans. Metal bands like A Life Once Once Lost and Strapping Young Lad hammered out their sets alongside hardcore acts like Madball and Throwdown in the sweltering 95+ degree midday heat. As the sun began to set, stalwarts like Chimaira, Poison the Well and From Autumn to Ashes played well into the darkness. All of the passion and power of that day is captured in Sounds of the Underground Live: Vol. 1, which will hit streets on June 20th.

DRT Entertainment will be releasing the DVD which documents the day's festivities, complete with performances from 16 of the 17 artists who participated in the tour. Along with over 90 minutes of performance footage, the DVD also features vignettes on every band on the tour, along with a host of hilarious 'guest interview' segments from members of GWAR, Every Time I Die and Throwdown. The DVD was filmed by Doug Spangenberg of Highroller Studios (Lamb of God's Killadelphia).

Featuring live performances from:

All That Remains
DevilDriver
A Life Once Lost
Madball
High on Fire
Strapping Young Lad
Throwdown
Norma Jean
Every Time I Die
Gwar
Chimaira
Unearth
Clutch

Every Time I Die To Miss Dates After Van Crash

Every Time I Die recently were cruising through scenic Wyoming, hit ice, and you know the story from there. They are all 100% okay, banged up, but good to go. Van, trailer, etc. - not so good. They'll miss the beginning of their run with Story Of The Year, catching back up with the tour January 10th. Here is a statement from the guys:

"I'm gonna have to agree with lambgoaters on this one. we really SHOULD have died. The first thing that went through my head when I realized our van was doing cartwheels off the I-80 was 'I bet Cliff Burton is going through Andy's head.' Then I was all 'Fuck! Jordan must have flinched right before hitting the launch ramp we built' then some glass broke, a shitload of poop fell out, the roof was at my feet, Durst (who was surfing on top of the van like styles in teen wolf) was thrown into a PERFECT 720 double backflip and totally stuck the landing, and my long island iced tea was spilt all over my 1/2 pound of alaskan king crab legs. We want to thank the Laramie, Wyoming police department for arriving at the speed of light maple syrup. Within the blink of an eye (for someone in a 45 minute coma) they (I mean HE) was on the scene- belittling, yelling, arguing and refusing to let us stay warm in his police car. We thank god for keeping us relatively injury free, since it wasn't until an hour and a half later that we arrived at the hospital to get x-rayed and have our urine sampled, which was fucking weird because nobody else had to donate a sample except me and the nurse stood behind me- yelling- the entire time AND she made me pee into an empty tissue box instead of a cup. Qt the end of the day, to anyone concerned, the band is fine. we are rejoining the Story Of The Year tour in a few days after our manditory 5 days rest for pulled muscles (the muscle andy pulled was actually done about 2 hours BEFORE the accident at an adult video store) and bruises and will be, obviously, heading out with Bleeding Through in February. We apologize to anyone in the midwest and western coast looking forward to seeing us, but you will have your chance again soon."

Obituary, Napalm Death, Others Do Fuses Metal Show

OBITUARY, NAPALM DEATH, HIGH ON FIRE and EVERY TIME I DIE have taped appearances on Fuse TV's "Metal Asylum" to air this coming week. The following summary of the week's shows was posted at the official "Metal Asylum" blog:

"On Monday [Sept. 12], none other than Florida death metal legends OBITUARY stop by! They talk about their new album, 'Frozen in Time', guitarist Allen West quitting and rejoining within a two-day period, and the recent resurgence in death metal.

"On Tuesday [Sept. 13], OBITUARY's touring partners legendary grindcore pioneers NAPALM DEATH stop by the studio. Among topics discussed are their new album, 'The Code is Red... Long Live the Code', touring with OBITUARY, being in the business for over 20 years, and Barney weighs in on a possible political career after he's done with music. Personally I think he's a guy of integrity and whether you agree with him politically or not, that's something that's sorely needed in global politics.

"On Wednesday [Sept. 14], southern metal gods HIGH ON FIRE stop by. They talk about their new album, 'Blessed Black Wings', their metaphorical lyrics for all the songs including 'Devilution', and Matt even talks a little about his time in the underground legendary band SLEEP.

"On Friday [Sept. 16], Buffalo rockers EVERY TIME I DIE drop by the 'Metal Asylum' set and all hell breaks loose. God knows what was talked about besides Michael Madsen (cameo in their new video), 'cause fire alarms were literally going off, sarcasm being dished out in high doses and rock was coming at you from every angle. I swear to you it's a show not to be missed!"
