Every Time I Die Releases New Video

After that metallic rite of passage of being banned from the House Of Blues, today the Buffalo-based hardcore band Every Time I Die shares a powerful video for latest single “Map Change.” The track appears on 2016 album "Low Teens," which was nominated for the Alternative Press Music Award for Album of the Year.

The “Map Change” video offers a cinéma vérité look at the hometown of vocalist Keith Buckley, guitarists Andy Williams and Jordan Buckley, drummer Daniel Davison, and bassist Steve Micciche. In creating the video, director Kyle Thrash spent a mid-winter week in Buffalo and emerged with a bleak yet beautiful, Herzog-esque portrait of American despair.

With help from the band, Thrash documented the everyday lives of the city’s locals and found his subjects open to sharing their most intimate moments. As a result, “Map Change” gives an up-close look at life in trailer parks and strip clubs, at butcher shops and Bingo games. Moving from abandoned churches to high school wrestling matches to roadside fistfights with a whiplash urgency, the video captures the dead-of-winter feeling of the world quite possibly coming to an end. Every Time I Die Banned From House Of Blues

It's been a long time since a band got booted from the House Of Blues for being "unfit to be associated with Disney" but I guess it's that time of year again!

Following in the hallowed footsteps of Skeletonwitch back in 2013 and Warbringer in 2015, Every Time I Die has been banned from the House Of Blues.

As usual, no reason was given, and it's apparent the band isn't particularly amused by this turn of events, as shown by the string of tweets below to fans wondering why Every Time I Die wasn't on the bill for this particular show.

The show was scheduled for July 20th in Orlando. For a complete list of upcoming Every Time I Die dates not being dicked all up and down by the ever-lovable Disney, head over to this location. More...

Metal Bands React To Trump Presidency

Well, it looks like GWAR's election rigging and Anal Trump's political grindcore couldn't stop the Trump Train.

The rock and metal world have begun to react to the reality of President-Elect Donald Trump this morning, and as expected, it isn't pretty. While a few were ecstatic (I see you there Ted) and a few have been oddly silent (where is Dave Mustaine?), most of the response has been less than positive.

Below is a sampling of musicians across the genre spectrum expressing their thoughts at learning of who ended up winning the electoral college vote last night in the U.S.

Every Time I Die Headlining Common Vision Tour

Every Time I Die has announced plans to headline the second annual Common Vision Tour this summer.

The band will be joined by Real Friends, Counterparts, Gnarwolves, Brigades, and Gatherers. The tour will start July 23rd in Richmond, VA and wrap up August 22nd in Poughkeepsie, NY. Nick “Biggie” Grimaldi, tour producer for the Common Vision Tour, states:

“When we created the Common Vision Tour in 2014, it was to bring credible bands together on a sonically mixed bill with one common denominator: great music. Now in our second year, I think we have exceeded that goal. Being an iconic band that's paving the way for so many of their peers with their music, attitude and ethics; Every Time I Die seemed like the perfect headliner for the tour. With an amazing mix of genres under them: Real Friends, Counterparts, Gnarwolves, Brigades and Gatherers; this tour has something for everyone. I’m extremely excited and proud of this tour and cannot wait for it to kick off this Summer!”

Every Time I Die’s frontman Keith Buckley adds: “With so many multi-band tours covering so much ground these next few Summer months, it was important for us to be a part of something that would not only excite us but be able to satisfy a wide range of musical tastes. Common Vision is a perfect fit and we're honored to be headlining. Playing after so many incredible bands will be difficult, but Every Time I Die loves a challenge and if you don't believe me just imagine how hard it was for Andy Williams to slip into that speedo in the new black video all those years ago.”

Buffalo hardcore band Every Time I Die is Keith Buckley (vocals), Jordan Buckley (guitar), Andy Williams (guitar), and Stephen Micciche (bass). The band is touring in support of seventh album "From Parts Unknown." More...

Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, Episode 40

This week on the MetalUnderground.com Official Podcast, we bring you yet another band hailing from Dayton, Ohio. This time it’s Four Star Revival, a four-piece Christian outfit dedicated to spreading the Good News not through screamo/hardcore - as has become inexplicably and irritatingly custom - but through an invigorating blend of hard rock, traditional and power metal.

Debut album “Knights Of The Revival” is out now, and we are proud to present and discuss the song “Hold On,” followed by an airing of “Red” at our sign-off.

Co-host Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) has another ticket giveaway for Fort Lauderdale’s Revolution Live to announce, so tune in to hear the details. He also is eager to report on his experience at last month’s giveaway concert featuring The Ghost Inside, Every Time I Die, and Architects.

Co-host Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) reacts to the recent implosion of Megadeth’s lineup that saw drummer Shawn Drover and guitarist Chris Broderick unceremoniously exit the band. He also has a few thoughts to express regarding the online reaction to the widely-publicized financial woes of former Creed frontman Scott Stapp.

And before you start hollering, for the record, NO, he does not think Creed was a “metal” band. To learn why he thinks this topic belongs in the discussion… you’ll just have to listen in!

You can do so here, and subscribe via iTunes and RSS feed.

Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, Episode 37

We’re still accepting submissions for our ticket giveaway contests through Fort Lauderdale’s Revolution Live this month - for Attila (supported by Crown The Empire and Like Moths To Flame) next Friday, November 14th, and for The Ghost Inside (supported by Every Time I Die and Architects) on Sunday, November 30th. If interested, submit your full name (matching your ID) to podcast@metalunderground.com, with one of the headlining bands in the subject line.

This week, we showcase the songs “Left For Dead” and “3 Ring” by Louisville, KY rapcore outfit Corprit Convict, which co-hosts Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) and Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) chalk up to a politically charged, raw, low-budget incarnation of Otep. Then Mike plugs the new album “As The World Burns” from Pitch Black Forecast, an underground side project of vocalist Jason “J-Mann” Popson (Mushroomhead) and drummer Gene Hoglan (Testament, etc.). The album contains guest appearances from Devin Townsend, Randy Blythe (Lamb Of God), and M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold), and is out now on Ferocious Records.

The big news of the week is, of course, the untimely death of industrial metal entertainer Wayne Static (ex-Static-X) last Saturday, November 1st. Stay tuned for a full round of discussion not only on the circumstances of Static’s passing, but on his career and musical legacy as well.

Listen in here, enjoy, and subscribe via iTunes and RSS feed.
