Every Time I Die Selling Off Old Equipment
Every Time I Die has issued the following update about shooting a new music video and having a garage sale for old equipment:
"just a brief update on some upcoming events related to the worlds smallest colossus that is every time i die. first off, we just wrapped up shooting our video for 'wanderlust' with our good friend and acclaimed director chris sims (jimmy eat world, lamb of god). it was a sweaty and arduous process in a warehouse in los angeles but we were able to hang out on the set of roseanne so it was all worth it. however, being the bunch of polaks that we are, what we're REALLY excited is the garage sale we're having of all old equipment and other etid related paraphernalia. after mike left the band, we cleaned out his garage and came across some real gems. there are road cases out the wazoo as well as old banners, scrims, merch and some weird painting of a fat ladys boobs. the dates of the garage sale are SATURDAY, AUGUST 15th and SUNDAY, AUGUST 16th and it will be held at a yet to be announced location in western new york.
"we will all be there playing yard games, chuggin beers and root beers and just generally loitering. we will be publishing a list of exactly what it is that is for sale so if you're coming from out of town, you know the trip wont be a total waste of time. and on AUGUST 21st, a variety of Dj's will be playing a party in buffalo new york including pete wentz and myself. well, i dont really know how to dj so i may just have my ipod on shuffle. but whatever, itll be a great time. find all information on facebook or go to here if you dont have a facebook account.
"dont forget, NEW JUNK AESTHETIC comes out on sept 15th thru EPITAPH RECORDS with all artwork done by our very own jordan buckley and our tour with bring me the horizon, oh, sleeper and the architects begins SEPT 9th. check our website for dates. love some of you, like you all."
Every Time I Die Announces Release Date, Fall Tour
Every Time I Die's "New Junk Aesthetic" has been set for a September 15 release via Epitaph. The band will be hitting the road to support the new album during their upcoming fall "Epitaph Presents" tour.
"New Junk Aesthetic is not the next logical step in the progression of Every Time I Die," explains front-man Keith Buckley. "It is an evolutionary leap. It's as if we have morphed from a single-celled bacteria straight to the guy with the dirt bike that will let you watch his older sister suntan if you steal him a smoke from your parents. Certainly you may acknowledge similarities, but on a grand scale, they stand light years apart."
The album was produced by Steve Evetts again and also features guest vocals on one song from Matt Caughthran (The Bronx).
Guitarist Jordan Buckley has been the artistic force behind the Every Time I Die's graphics. The cover imagery of "New Junk Aesthetic" features a mythological god covering his eyes with see-through hands and each song is represented by its own unique artwork.
"Aside from contributing to the creation of the 13 greatest Every Time I Die songs ever written, New Junk Aesthetic will also contain almost 40 pages of my hand rendered illustrations, that, for the first time ever, offer visual insight into the genius lyrics that ETID fans have come to expect from my brother and bandmate Keith," explains guitarist Jordan Buckley. "With the band in complete control over what you hear, see and hold, New Junk Aesthetic will move culture into a place where the possession of a CD is an authentic experience so powerful that you won't even be able to cover your eyes; a feeling long overdue, but guaranteed to be worth the wait."
Every Time I Die will co-headline the "Epitaph Presents" tour along with labelmates Bring Me The Horizon beginning Sept 8 in support of "New Junk Aesthetic." Tickets are on sale now at Livenation.com.

Every Time I Die Parts Ways With Drummer
Every Time I Die has issued the following statement about parting ways with their drummer:
"After 11 years of being involved with this band, Mike 'Ratboy' Novak has indeed decided to quit Every Time I Die. Yesterday morning we received text messages that he wasn't going to continue anymore. 15 years ago, when someone left their band, they would get drunk, fight their friends, and we'd learn about it from Kurt Loder at 10 minutes before the hour. Today it's in a text messages and you guys find out on a messageboard. To be honest, it was something we have seen coming for some time now, but were uncertain as to exactly when or how it was going to happen because, as everyone who has ever met him knows, his communication skills leave much to be desired. That being said, he simply didn't feel the need to talk to us about any problem he was having or discomfort he was experiencing with any situation in particular.
"For the past year it has felt like we were playing with a drum machine or a pre recorded backing track. He completely shut off communication with us, contributing only to the band when onstage and opting to take no part in any social activity while on tour or to be present for the filming of our upcoming DVD. Whatever his reasons were, he simply was not a part of us anymore mentally or emotionally.
"So now, us at Every Time I Die are confronted with a small hurdle which we will no doubt jump in order to become a new version of the killing machine we've always been. The person that fills the vacant shoes Ratboy left is going to be more hungry and more intense and bring a renewed energy to the stage, not simply be able learn the songs and repeat them for a half hour every night. Someone that doesn't take being in a band for granted and wants to destroy everyone and every thing sonically. Someone that can appreciate the amazing people we surround ourselves with and the opportunities we've been given. With our new record 'The New Junk Aesthetic' on the verge of blowing the earth a huge gaping asshole, we couldn't be happier that our insecurities and personal conflicts are in the past. and if you dont believe us, just check out our myspace 'mood.' cannot wait to see you all again."

Every Time I Die Recording New Album
Every Time I Die has issued the following update about recording a new album:
"we start recording today with steve evetts. you know that name is a palindrome? like that they might be giants record "I Palindrome I" which wasnt really a palindrome but it was clever in the same way that evetts isnt his real last name but it is steve pronounced backwards. is it clear i drove 21 hours? we got in last night from buffalo. 47 hours straight shot to orange county to start the new record today with evetts steve in anaheim. i listened to the same 5 howard sterns because the music on my ipod sucks and i would rather hear richard christie prank tradio than make the band suffer through the entire counting crows catalogue because while they're one of my favorite bands, the rest of the guys dont agree.
"i dont want to give away too much about this record in terms of the direction we're moving with it, but someone on absolutepunk.net said i could shit into a mic and they'd listen so they kind of ruined our big surprise. its basically just going to be one session of me "dropping the kids off at the pool" with 8 remixes. 6 of them dance versions using pro tools, vocoders and pitch shifters. another one with guest vocals by someone from a band that has neon slime merchandise at hot topic and then of course the original. whatever sells. we will be videotaping basically the entire process, posting portions on here and portions on our modlife site which will be open shortly. also, rather than trashing un-used lyrics like i normally do, ive held onto them. as i go through and rewrite and revise while here, ill be posting some of them so you guys can see the process rather than just the product. is that pretentious? maybe it is. fuck it maybe i wont do that. i dont know yet. its like "hey hobo's, did you find a nice crouton in my trash? thats cool, i dont need it. i got a box of croutons". yea i think im gonna scratch that idea. Every Time I Die Begins Work On New Album
Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley has posted the following message online:
"As of January 12th, we have officially begun writing the new record. Well let me rephrase that. Jordan (Buckley/guitars), Mike (Novak/drums), Andy (Williams/guitar) and Josh (Newton/bass) have begin writing and I have just attained a level 23 ranking on Call Of Duty: World At War online. But that's not to say I have not been doing my part as I await to hear the demos of the songs as they begin filing in. I have, according to tradition, thrown myself into a tempestuous spiral of panic, doubt and self-loathing in the face of an impending creative venture that will ultimately shift public opinion of me to one extreme or another independent of my own faculties to control it. And still we do it for the kids. The irony. We will be taking a brief hiatus from the writing to play Poughkeepsie, New York; Plains, Pennsylvania; and Worcester, Massachusetts on January 29th - 31st, then again between February 16th - March 4th to play shows in New Zealand and Australia before heading to the studio in California on April 1st."

Poison The Well Begins Recording New Album
Miami, Florida based Poison The Well has announced that they have begun recording their new full length album which will be released through Ferret Music in May 2009. Finale Enters The Studio
Finale, featuring Keith Buckley of Every Time I Die, is currently recording new material. The band had the following to say:
"Two years ago this started as a way to avoid succumbing to the Buffalo winters and drinking ourselves to death. Now Finale is a full band with six songs that we are currently recording at Audio Magic in our hometown. We hope to one day release it, but as of right now it's just something to send to labels with the hopes of getting more than 5 days in a studio. We are also video recording our progress here which will will post as soon as we get it edited together. Once it's done you will be able to stream all songs in their entirety. The response to what we have done thus far is overwhelming and it has made us realize that finale is not just a project. It's a band capable of recording and playing shows and giving back to the people that have supported us since it was just 2 dudes, an acoustic guitar and a bunch of sparks alcoholic energy drinks. Keep your ear to the ground."

The Bronx Readies Self-Titled Third Album
Los Angeles based punk/metal band The Bronx will release their latest, self-titled album to stores and online nationwide on November 11th, 2008. This will be the group's third album. Beginning November 1st the band will tour in Canada and the U.S. with Everytime I Die. Shortly after, the group will head out for a long string of headlining shows. The upcoming release of THE BRONX, will be released on the group's own White Drugs label, with help of New York independent label Original Signal Recordings.
Production duties went to Dave Shiffman, who has worked with Mars Volta, System of a Down and Rage Against the Machine and was recorded at The Bronx's very own Big Game Lodge studio in Los Angeles. Additionally they enlisted Joby Ford, the band's guitarist, to create the album's cover art as he has done the past two records.
One of the upcoming album's tracks, "Knifeman," can currently be heard on the band's MySpace page.
Audiences nationwide were able to catch The Bronx this past summer on the big screen in the theatrical release of "The Germs: What We Do Is Secret," as they were featured musicians in the film, playing the historic punk rock group Black Flag.
All confirmed dates follow. The band will also be touring the UK in late October and Australia in December. The start of the campaign begins now but doesn't end anytime in the near future or even into 2009.

August Burns Red Guitarist Injures Foot
August Burns Red guitarist JB Brubaker is currently hobbled with foot injury that may be a fracture. Brubaker explains:
"During Every Time I Die's last song at the House of Blues in Dallas, I went to do a 'sweet' stage dive but ended up jumping too far into the crowd, landing in the pit and coming down very hard on my right heel. I haven't been able to walk on it since and I've been hobbeling around on crutches for the time being. Unfortunately, my busted heel keeps me from running around and rocking out like I would like to when we play. I am getting x-rays on Monday and I will find out if it's officially fractured or not.
I wanted to thank everyone for putting up with me and my gimp foot for the past week and for having a good time during our set. I also want to apologize for not being able to go off 100% for you and I promise I'm doing what I can to get this foot of mine back in working order as soon as possible."
Every Time I Die Vocalist Discusses Pantera Cover
Recently, METAL Injection had the pleasure of interviewing Keith and Jordan Buckley of EVERY TIME I DIE. The interview, peppered with sarcasm, is available now at this location.
During the interview, Keith was asked to talk about what has become a very controversial clip on the internet of him performing a cover of PANTERA's Walk with FALL OUT BOY. After joking around a bit, Keith said point blank: "If you're against people playing music with friends, then I don't even know what you're doing in music at all."
You really can't argue with that logic. Watch the full interview here.
