Connecticut act Kali Ma has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with guitarist Roy Moore:
"Last night’s band practice brought about some of the most unsuspecting news that saddens me to the core of my soul. As of May 13th, one of the founding members of this band, Roy Moore, will be stepping down as one of the guitarists of Kali Ma due to a job offer he has accepted in Florida.
"Words cannot express the sadness that I and the remaining members of this band feel. We started this band together almost 7 years ago in a small garage and we have not only grown as musicians and friends together, but as a family. Any person that is or has been in a band with individuals whom they have grown close to and that have shared something so spectacular with, knows that it is a terrible feeling to hear them tell you they will no longer be sharing the stage with you anymore. Roy has come to the fork in the road and has made a choice that we all respect and support.
"Our band has had the longevity to remain active for these past 7 years, not because it was something to do, but it’s because we love playing music and doing so together. We’re not just friends, we’re brothers and to have one of our brothers leave is just a gut wrenching feeling that leaves a big void in all of us. As musicians, we yearn to pick up our instruments and create music with people we love and we have had that opportunity for the past 7 years to do so and I believe I speak for all of us when I say that we wouldn’t change any of that for a second. Connecticut's Kali Ma has checked in with the following announcement about gearing up to record a new album:
"It is with heavy heart and sadness to announce that Kali Ma will no longer be playing music as a band. Sike! We're actually going to record all new material starting in March.
"We're very excited to do so as we had plans to start this past November, but we were not satisfied with the current status of our new tunes at the time, but we are now and that's pretty rad! This will be our 1st official full length cd of studio tracks.
"We were stoked with our last release we put out with our live recorded performance and our self-titled studio recorded E.P. but we're pumped to put a new release out with all new tunes! Hopefully you'll enjoy as we worked hard and pushed ourselves to write the best songs we can."
Connecticut's Kali Ma has checked in with the following update about working on a CD/DVD to see release this coming May, 2012:
"Hey everyone! We hope all of you had a great weekend and that you get through the daily grind without losing your sanity like most of us! Anyways, we haven't been playing as frequently as we normally do, but its due to us utilizing the time to write new songs and hopefully record them later this year.
"In the mean time, we have put together a cd/dvd that we plan on doing a release show for this May. We're pretty excited on how this project came out. It will contain a CD with a recorded live performance from Daniel Street Cafe in Milford. There are some old, yet familiar songs on the performance as well as current songs we play consistently with a brand new song added in the mix. It will also contain our current 4 song E.P. at the end of the live performance.
"The 2nd disc will be a DVD, which will contain the live performance from Daniel Street as well as our mini music film 'Death March.' We haven't decided on a venue yet, but we should be finalizing that shortly. We are just waiting for the artwork to be finished and then we'll be sending it out to be pressed and duplicated.
"We also have some new shirt designs that we'll be getting printed as well, so, we are going to be stocked with new merch for this summer! Stay posted for info from us regarding the release show, as we would love to have you be apart of it."
