Heathen Crusade Metalfest 4 Canceled
The Heathen Crusade Metalfest 4, which was scheduled for Saturday, March 9th at Station 4 in St. Paul, MN has been canceled.
The following statement was issued by the organizers of the fest:
Do to unforeseen issues on both sides, the Heathen Crusade Metalfest is canceled. We are extremely sorry for any in convinces this may have caused. For those who have purchased tickets, please email info@vitaltickets.com or log into the vitaltickets.com website and cancel your order. We wish you all the best and all the bands that were supposed to be on the bill. For those who already bought tickets, I will be sending out CDs that we have received from labels and bands personally. Again if you have any questions for me personally you may email me at: contact@heathencrusadefest.com.
The 2013 edition fo the Viking/Folk/Pagan metal festival was announced almost a year ago to feature bands including EINHERJER (Norway), VANIR (Denmark), ASHAENA (Romania), TRELLEBORG (RUSSIA), VESPERIA (formerly BOLEROS) (Canada), MINOS (U.S.) among others, some of whom had canceled and been replaced in the months leading up to the festival date.
Warseid Replacing Winterhymn For Heathen Crusade
Warseid has checked in with the following announcement about replacing Winterhymn on the Heathen Crusade Metalfest:
"Our brothers in Winterhymn were forced to drop from Heathen Crusade Metalfest this year due to lineup difficulties, but we are glad to announce that Warseid will be taking their place.
"We will be sharing the stage with great folk metal acts like Waylander, Vesperia, SIG:AR:TYR, Minos, and many others.
"The previous night, March 8th, we will be playing in Madison, WI at Regent Street Retreat with Against the Plagues, Casket Robbery, and Burial Ritual and then follow us to Minneapolis for a night of some of the best folk metal acts around.
"The fest begins March 9th at Station 4 in Minneapolis, MN. $22 advance, $27 at the door. Details here."
Winterhymn Drops Off Heathen Crusade Bill
Winterhymn, which recently announced lineup changes within the band, has checked in with the following announcement about canceling the group's previously scheduled Heathen Crusade appearance:
"Unfortunately, due to various circumstances, we have decided to pull ourselves from the bill for Heathen Crusade Metalfest 2013 in order to continue work on our new material and continue auditioning new members.
"We apologize to the fans who were looking forward to our performance, as well as to the festival. Hopefully we'll get the chance again soon!"

Winterhymn Announces Lineup Changes
Ohio act Winterhymn has checked in with the following announcement about splitting with the band's bassist and drummer:
"After much discussion and debate, Sieven and Warg have decided to part ways with the fellowship of Winterhymn to pursue other conquests and we wish them the best of luck.
"Our loyal legions can rest assured that Winterhymn IS continuing to move forward with Ulfr, Draug, Exura, and Umbriel at the helm and that we are hard at work writing more material for the next release which we can’t wait to share with you!
"This means that we will also be looking to bring on a new drummer and bassist! We are seeking talented, hardworking, loyal, career-minded individuals, ideally who reside in reasonable proximity to the Cincinnati area, who have some experience with live music performance, their own gear, who can travel and perform with us on weekends and summers, and who can stand their ground in the face of Draug’s formidable armor-stench and Umbriel’s drinking challenges.

Winterhymn Releases "Stand Your Ground" Video
U.S. folk metal band Winterhymn has just premiered a new official music video for "Stand Your Ground," which is taken from the band's 2011 album "Songs for the Slain." The video was created by Acidvision Entertainment and can be viewed below. The track listing is as follows:

Heathen Crusade Confirms Three More Bands
The organizers of Heathen Crusade have announced three more acts for the event, which will take place on March 9th, 2013 at Station 4 in St Paul, MN. Newly confirmed acts include Canadian acoustic folk metal act SIG:AR:TYR (making a rare live appearance), Celtic thrashers Battlesoul (Canada) and Winterhymn (U.S).
This newly announced trio of bands will join Norwegian Viking Gods Einherjer (making its first appearance since 2001), Vanir (Denmark), Ashaena (Romania), Trelleborg (Russia), Hammer Horde (U.S.), Vesperia (formerly Bolero, Canada), and Minos (U.S.) for the United States' premier viking/folk/pagan metal festival.
This is the fourth installment of the Heathen Crusade Festival. Past years events have seen the likes of Primordial, Moonsorrow, Thyrfing, Bal-Sagoth, Vreid, Metsatoll, Skyforger, Rudra, Meal Mordha, Obtest and Manegarm all making their US debuts. Winterhymn Streaming New Album
