Melbourne death metal band Whortetopsy has issued the following announcement about lineup changes:
"We regret to announce that Chris and Brent have parted ways with Whoretopsy. It was a mutual decision and we are eternally grateful for all the work they put in over the last 12 months. Whoretopsy will continue as a four piece with Jake Sproule joining us as drummer. Jake has proven himself as being more than capable as he previously filled in for two shows in September after only learning the set a few weeks earlier. New material is already well underway, and we are looking forward to touring nationally and internationally in 2015!
Chris had this to say: "I really appreciated getting the chance to slam with Whoretopsy, and go to a bunch of sick places an meet new peeps. Had some sick times. Will be a fan instead of a member"
Brent adds: "After severely damaging my ankle and shin in late April, I haven't been able to contribute to the band on the level that has been required. After 5 months on the sidelines, we've agreed it's best for Whoretopsy to carry on without me. I wish the boys the very best and am thankful for the support they've given me since I joined. I wish them the best of luck in the future."

Australian slamsters Whoretopsy recently inked a deal with Torture Music Records for the release of their upcoming debut full-length album, “They Did Unspeakable Things,” due to hit stores in late 2011.
Torture Music Records head and founder Janis has the following to say about the signing: “I’m absolutely keen to work with these guys! I remember listening to their demo just a few months ago and was immediately blown away by how mature (and fucking brutal!) they sounded, albeit being together as a band just since early 2011. The new tracks that I’ve heard so far suggest that this upcoming album is going to kick some serious ass too, so y’all better prepare yourselves!”
Whoretopsy vocalist Matt Storma (Insidious Torture) adds: “This year has been a fucking whirlwind. Since the demo was released the response has been massive! When Janis contacted us showing a great deal of interest we couldn’t believe it. We are looking forward to working with him and TMR. Keep an eye on this sick label as its roster of brutal acts grows! As for the label’s first release.....Whoretopsy ‘They Did Unspeakable Things’.....Prepare yourselves for some nasty as fuck Aussie slam death!”
