Latest Sound Storm News
Below is our complete Sound Storm news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Sound Storm has issued the following update about working on a new full-length album:
"We are excited to announce that we are finally nearly to accomplish the making of the new album, coming out later this year!
"Currently we are ending with a bang all the pre-productions in our studio, later on we will enter the Sandlane Recording Facilities along with the amazing Joost Van Der Broek (Epica, Ayreon, Mayan, Anneke Van Giesbergen, etc) for starting the production.
"The new chapter took a long time to see the light for many reasons. Firstly because of many shadows and lights along our path, lately. Luckily, everything's been fixed yet. Then, we surely needed a bit more time to find out a new way to create something new and innovative, something to be proud of.
"However here we are, finally stronger and louder than ever: this is something never experienced before by us (and by you, we hope!), that's not just a - epic, symphonic, experimental and, of course, metal - album, but that's something more...
"By the way, we have updated our social media list, as we added Tumblr and Instagram to the other ones, in order to post every now and then a detailed studio report as the works go by. Keep this in your mind: 'follow the dragonfly to discover a new World...,' and you will experience something new. Does not matter where you will find that, just follow.
"More details to come soon, even about the new singer of course! In the meantime enjoy the amazing new logo and symbol, created by our old friend Gustavo Sazes. See you in Germany in the upcoming weekend, along with the mighty Haggard again!"
You can also see the band live on these date:
8. Jan. - Leipzig, Theaterfabrik
9. Jan. - Hamburg, Markthalle
10. Jan. - Berlin, K17

Italy's Sound Storm has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's drummer:
"It's with much regret that today we announce the split with our brother, friend and band-founder Federico 'Sadwise' Brignolo.
"He decided to leave the band a few months ago, after that some personal reasons forced him to miss the last tour and festival appearances.
"The split has totally been friendly, no conflict or dispute inside the band took place. This was an hard decision on both side due to force majeure of some private-life events.
"However we remember with joy the unforgettable moments we spent together, 2 albums, tours and a lot of shows all over the world, from the small pubs in Turin to the international gigs sharing the stage with bands such as Blind Guardian, Haggard, Angra, Tristania and many more... We will never forget it!
"We want to wish him a bright and shining life and want to thank Federico for everything he did for Sound Storm over the years, we would never have been who we are without him and his precious contribution!"

Sound Storm is set to embark on a European Tour with Therion and Arkona in a few weeks. Information on dates and venues can be found over here. For the tour, the band will be joined by David Folchitto (Stormlord) on drums and Lisy Stefanoni (Evenoire) on backing vocals due to the fact that the band's own drummer Federico Brignolo and vocalist Ilaria Lucille De Santis will not be able to take part due to personal reasons. The band is also in the process of writing the follow up album - see update here.

The upcoming Rommelrock festival, which was to take place Friday and Saturday in Maasmechelen, Belgium, was cancelled. According to the promoters, the mayor of the town enforced a decision made back in May, in which he refused to issue a permit on the grounds that that the festival would cause unsafe conditions.
The announcement reads: "To our greatest regret, Rommelrock is forced to cancel the whole event. Seven years of intense labour, the spotless reputation, legal terms and liberties, in vain... Two court sessions made little difference... [The] mayor steps in to enforce the prohibition to organize Rommelrock, refuses to issue a license to permit Rommelrock 2013... such an improbable tale, as the decision of the Maasmechelen mayor made on May 13, 2013, is maintained, on so-called grounds of safety and public order... A boiling cauldron that spawned the anti-rommelrock story!
"Despite all the efforts taken and the fact we have the law and justice at our side according to the law and the constitution itself, the struggle ended in the worst possible way, forcing us to pull the plug out of this year's Rommelrock.
"We wish to express our deepest respect to all that supported us, and we apologize in the same time to all that suffered because of all this, despite all perseverance and tenacity.
We never wanted to see Rommelrock 2013, a special edition with exclusive shows and such, to end in this way."
Among the acts that were scheduled to perform: Therion, Civil War, Haggard, Morton, Tokyo Blade, Furyon, Dragonsfire, Sound Storm, Pursuing the End, Lord Volture, Iron Fate, Black Widow and Weeping Silence. More...
Italian symphonic metal band Sound Storm posted an update on the progress of the writing for the band's third release and follow up to "Immortalia" (see review here). The update was posted on the band's Facebook page and reads as follows:
"NEW ALBUM UPDATES: SUMMER CAMP!
"We'd like you to inform that since August - between Rommelrock fest and Into the Limelight fest - we will be off to a sort of summer camp for the new (it's the 3th!) album pre-production!
"Most of the songs are already composed and ready to blast some ears, so we'll have a lot of work to do on the lyrics and orchestral/choir arrangements. The new album is a natural follow-up of 'Immortalia', but with a lot of new ideas, concepts and...dark epicness! Guitar riffs are probably the heaviest ever done and the drums are the fastest that Federico ever played (Valerio feels the blame for that..).
"Soon we will disclose new details about the new themes, we cannot say more at the moment but...We are sure that you will like it!
"And of course, you will be informed on the release date but it's a bit early for that...
"We are more than excited on the new stuff, and we cannot wait to show you guys what we have been working for the last - hard - months.
"Meanwhile Philippe is warming up his vocal cords...
"Stay tuned for the Summer Camp diary report!"

Italian symphonic metal band Sound Storm officially unveiled "Immortalia" today, the band's forthcoming sophomore release. In addition, the band announced that they have signed a worldwide deal with Scarlet Records for release of the album.
Since its inception, Sound Storm has developed its own unique blend of metal mixed with a theatrical sense of drama, which was introduced on the debut release "Twilight Opera." With "Immortalia," the band mixes an even wider range of influences with powerful guitars, symphonic choirs, gothic atmospheres and baroque melodies.
"Immortalia" was recorded, mixed and mastered at Metal House Studio by Ettore Rigotti (Disarmonia Mundi), and is an original concept album about the quest for eternal life, derived from literature, poetry and history, resulting in a collection of songs linked together by the common theme of the immortality of the soul. The artwork (shown below) was handled by Felipe Machado Franco (Blind Guardian, Rhapsody Of Fire).
"Immortalia" is scheduled for release on August 28th, 2012. Shortly after the band will support Norwegian Gothic Metal veterans Tristania on their new European tour, commencing September 13, 2012. More...

Italian symphonic metal band Sound Storm has announced it will enter the recording studio at the end of September with producer Ettore Rigotti (Disarmonia Mundi, Destrage, Slowmotion Apocalypse, Stigma) to begin work on a new album. The as-yet-untitled album is set for release in early 2012.
"The new album is very different from the previous one" says Dusk, guitarist and composer of the band, "because the sound is much more extreme and elaborate, thanks to the huge work of arrangement done with Alex. As usual, all the other guys have been working on these songs, making them unique."
"After the many albums I recorded in the past with other bands," adds Alexandros, keyboardist and piano player, "I can easily say this is going to be the most inspired and complete album that I've ever composed."
Studio reports from the band, along with additional details on the upcoming album, will be released in the coming weeks.
