Decaying To Record New Album

Finland's Decaying, which released new album "The Last Days of War" earlier this year, has checked in with the following year-end message:

"This has been a great year for us, The Last Days Of War was a well received album and we finally hit the stage. But we are definitely looking forward to 2014.

"Some shows will be coming up, the Metal On Metal IV compilation, featuring two previously unreleased Decaying tracks, is expected to come out in February.

"And on top of all that - the recordings of an upcoming, yet untitled album are going to take place: rhythm guitar tracking starting early in the year, followed by drum studio somewhere before the summer.

"The material is very promising. 41 minutes of heavy and uncompromising death metal. Don't expect a WW2 based theme this time around though..." More...

Decaying Comments On New Material

Finland's Decaying has issued the following announcement about working on an upcoming album:

"All but two songs have now lyrics written and the rehearsing continues. We are going to start tracking guitars in the start of October. No studio date has been set for the drums yet though. Can't wait to get this album recorded!

"The track listing for 'The Last Days Of War' looks like this right now, although the song titles aren't final. All songs have been demoed and we're right now rehearsing them.Total length of the CD is about 46 minutes.

"1. 'Preparation' - it is the intro for the album, a minute long song with a cool Bolt Thrower -like melody.

"2. 'Code Name Overlord' - our 'new Operation Citadel' of the record. Fast riffing, drums annihilate and the chorus is memorable. The lenght of the song is 6 minutes... Tells about the Invasion of Normandy.

"3. 'The Ardennes Offensive' - the fastest song of the album, 4 out of 6 minutes is constant thrash beat. The song slows down a bit in the middle section, and once again starts ripping things apart. Battle Of The Bulge was the last large scaled, although desperate offensive Germany launched in the WW2.

"4. 'Firestorm' - The second longest track, about seven and half minutes. This one has multiple sections - in the beginning it goes midtempo with a lead guitar on top, then it speeds up for a while accompanied by a galloping guitar riff. Things slow down to create a doom metal atmosphere, and in the end there's a fast heavy metal riff which will get some heads rolling for sure! The theme for "Firestorm" isn't yet quite set, but right now it will probably tell about the bombing raids Britain and US commited over Germany in WW2. More...

Decaying Releases "Operation Citadel" Video

Decaying has posted a video clip online for the song "Operation Citadel," which comes off the band's newly released "Encirclement" album. You can watch the video after the jump, and the band also commented:

"The song tells about Battle Of Kursk (1943) - the last proper offensive that Germany was able to launch against the Soviet forces in World War II. The hopes on 'Operation Zitadelle' were high to regain the initiative back and turn the tide for the Axis' favor once again; but eventually it resulted in a failure for the Wehrmacht, and marked a major turning point in the course of the war.

"The battle is known as the largest tank engagement thus far: Wehrmacht's panzer battalions destroyed Russian tanks with a overwhelming ratio; only the sheer amount of Soviet armor, especially T-34s, arriving into the battlefield almost straight-from-the-factory, sometimes even totally unpainted - and the fact that the Russians managed to set up very good anti-tank defences in advance due to good intelligence - resulted in the Axis' downfall." Decaying Announces New Album Release

Finnish act Decaying has issued the following announcement about the release of the band's new "Encirclement" album:

"Our sophomore album, entitled 'Encirclement' is schechuled for release 2nd of January 2012 through Hellthrasher Productions (Poland)! Encirclement is going to feature 10 tracks, listed below. The opening one is an instrumental piece, followed by fully re-recorded version of Operation Citadel (demo version can be found on Youtube).

"The lyrics on the album are mostly handling specific events in the World War 1 & 2, but there is also other topics included - like media propaganda themed 'Public Enlightenment,' a tongue-in-cheek written 'Artillery Barrage' and 'Conclusion' which even relates to events happened this year. Finally 'Encirclement' culminates to the 10 minute epic 'The Rising Sun,' which is without a doubt one of the strongest tracks we've written.

"You can expect over 60 minutes worth of extremely heavy & old school death metal in the vein of Asphyx, Bolt Thrower and Death, but with a twist! This is definitely an improvement over our first effort, Devastate. Stay tuned! The artwork was designed once again by Bartlomiej Kurzok."

The track listing is as follows:

1. Initiation
2. Operation Citadel
3. From The Cradle To The Grave
4. Artillery Barrage
5. Battle Of The Somme
6. Conclusion
7. On The Path Of Subjugation
8. The Hell Of Verdun
9. Public Enlightenment
10. The Rising Sun More...
