Latest Deadsoil News
Below is our complete Deadsoil news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Note: We began associating news directly with bands in late 2003. Therefore, earlier band news may not be listed on this page.
Germany's Deadsoil has issued the following announcement about calling it quits:
"Good news for some, bad news for the most! Indeed, we decided to call it a day since we didn't want to handle the never ending line-up changes within the band anymore. We found an awesome replacement for our bassist and singer but after all that done, Jens was forced to leave the band due to the permanent lack of time caused by his new job. It was a tough decision for us as you can imagine, but whatsoever... shit happens!
"Some of you might have heard the we actually recorded a completely new full length album that is just missing the vocals. We don't know yet what to do with it. Maybe we will record the vocals some day and release it somewhere or put it online as a myspace release. we will see about that! We'd like to thank Allen and GoDownBelieving for still believing in us and everyone that supported us in one way or another and a big high-five to everyone who was part of the band sometime.
"As always a band split-up results in new or sometimes old bands, nothing different here. Boris and Jogi focused on COPYKILL again, Hartmut is back with his melody-death band SYMBIONTIC and Jens might shift levers to NIGHT IN GALES again. Nevertheless, Boris, Jogi, Hartmut and Niko are forging plans to create a new band in early 2010, so keep your eyes and ears open for that!
"Last but not least we'd like to thank everyone that came out to one or more of our shows, we had a blast over the years and met great people and saw awesome places, shared stages and tour-busses with great bands. Thank you guys!
"That's it... Deadsoil is dead!"
Having survived several recent shake-ups which saw some members depart and join the ranks of Germany's top metal bands (Caliban and Deadsoil), SIX REASONS TO KILL has regrouped and returned with an even more massive album entitled, "Another Horizon." Now armed with a new vocalist, Thorsten Polomski, the band is planning a successful followup to their previous Tribunal Records release, "Reborn," which garnered critical acclaim from around the world. "Another Horizon" follows the same destructive path of its predecessor, but with more vocal melody infused into their now distinct "sledgehammer to your face" approach. Along with the unabashedly "metal worship" also comes a socially conscious album dealing with such topics as discrimination, environmental exploitation, racism, war and human rights.
SIX REASONS TO KILL's new album, "Another Horizon," will be in stores in North America on June 10th. You can check out the artwork here.
Deadsoil (Lifeforce Records) drummer Christian Bass has announced his departure from the band. Bass has subsequently been replaced by Hartmut Stoof, formerly of Symbiontic. Here's a statement from the band:
"Well, some of you might have heard the rumors that Christan Bass decided to leave the band, and yes its true! For us as well as for him, it wasn't an easy decision but we all have to move on with our visions and future plans. We wish him all the best in his future! And for all the people out there, we are sorry. No trouble, no hard feelings nothing for you to bitch about! Christian's spot will be filled by Hartmut Stoof, former drummer of metalband Symbiontic. He already helped us out on several shows as well as on the tour we did together with Ill-Disposed in 2006. We are glad to have such an effective and motivated replacement."
Meanwhile, Bass has issued the following:
"Yes, the rumors have been true and I will play my final Deadsoil show this Sunday at the Essen Original Festival in Essen, together with Hatesphere, Dew-Scented, Japanische Kampfhörspiele, Volbeat and more. Surely this decision wasn't easy but I felt that I have to move on and start to work on some music that I have in mind for a long time. I am sorry, but there is no bad blood and no shit-talking. All I can do is to wish the guys all the best for the upcoming time... Check out and add my new band White Eyes here. (we will have a video and 3 demo tracks online soon). Thanks to everyone I met during the last 5 years in Deadsoil and I gonna meet soon with White Eyes!"
Germany's DEADSOIL have completed work on their new album, "Sacrifice", due on May 26 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and on May 29 in the rest of Europe via Lifeforce Records. The follow-up to 2004's "The Venom Divine" was recorded in January at Principal Studios (CALIBAN, WATERDOWN) in Senden by Vincent Sorg, mixed by KATAKLYSM's Jean-Francois Dagenais and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music, Tenafly, NJ.
Commented DEADSOIL guitarist Boris Pracht: "Finally it's about time to release the result of over one year of hard work, lots of sweat and long rehearsal room nights. We are very proud of what has turned into our new full length called 'Sacrifice' and we can't await to see this record to be put out! It's hard to compare it to our last effort, 'The Venom Divine', because a lot has changed. It became more aggressive and more metal than ever before. So i think all our hard work and heartblood was really woth it... this is our sacrifice!"
"Sacrifice" track listing:
02. Cross The Great Divide
03. The Day I Die
04. These Stings
06. Forget Everything

Deadsoil bassist Stefan Eutebach has left the band for personal reasons. Here's a statement from Eutebach:
"Leaving Deadsoil was in no way an easy decision when thinking of the great times we've had together during the past years. I am proud I had the chance being a part of that whole circus. But in the past months I realized time would be more and more of an issue as there's tons of major changes in my life besides this band - I finally want to finish university, I recently got a new great job I am looking forward to, amongst other great news. I want to thank my buddies in the band for everything and everyone who supported what I was doing, especially my wife."
Consequently, long-time band friend Andreas Schüssler has now joined the group as full-time bassist.
