Bass player Andy Rothwell from U.K. band Impaled Existence has posted the following announcement online about leaving the group:
"Unfortunately I've had to give up my position as bassist for Impaled Existence. The band is at a critical juncture in its career and truthfully I can no longer commit the time and focus that I was once able to due to a number of recent changes in my life.
"It's been a fun ride, not without its bumps but I know that the guys are heading in the right direction, and I wish them the best of luck. I've been lucky enough to be good mates with the band for a number of years, well before I joined in March last year, and we'll remain solid after my time with them.
"My departure will not affect any of the bands upcoming commitments. Anyway, I'd like to say thanks for the memories and to all the awesome people I've met and venues I've visited. And remember, ?#?nohorse."
Guitarist Mikey Dykins of Impaled Existence has checked in with the following statement about parting ways with the band:
"After over 12 yrs and the founding member of Impaled Existence the time has finally come for me to part ways with the band. This has been a very difficult decision for me to make, unfortunately I have been finding my position in Impaled Existence stressful, I have had a lot of responsibility within the band and of late I have been finding it hard to manage with my family and work life.
"Impaled Existence have a busy schedule ahead for the next year and this has been the realisation for me that I just cannot commit enough of my time. I have seen the band come so far, from start-up as a Green Day/Metallica/Iron Maiden style cover band (And yes we were called Impaled Existence for that!) To today's modern progressive direction. It has been a blast on all fronts, as a band and as band mates we have been through so much and this time within Impaled will be remembered until the day I die with fond memories! I wish the guys Craig, Danny, Nathan and Andy all the best for the future, and I wait with ears open on what is coming our way.
"I look forward to honoring the next 3 shows Impaled existence have coming up, a big thanks to all who have supported Impaled Existence and to those who made it possible, the promoters, the sound engineers, family. As I take a back-step from the stage I will be moving forward at live shows to see these guys!"
Impaled Existence also comments: "We wanted to add our best wishes for Mikey and state that he will always be a part of the IMEX family. We have 3 remaining shows with Mike and want you all to come and show your appreciation for all the hard work he has put into IMEX, we certainly wouldn't have enjoyed the success we have without him.
"That being said, the cogs will not stop turning and as we speak, we are working hard on the album and we are massively excited with what the rest of 2013 will bring! More news on this and other things to follow in the coming weeks!"
U.K. act Impaled Existence has posted the following message online about parting ways with bassist Sam Walker:
"As sad as it is, IMEX and Sam Walker are parting ways. We would just like to say a MASSIVE thank you to Sam for all the hard work, hard drinking and hard bantering he has put in over the last 4 years, he will be greatly missed as part of this band and this decision in no way affects our friendship with Sam, who is, and always will be a brother. Sam, best of luck in the future buddy and we will catch up with you soon."
Sam also commented: "Hey guys, this may be a shock to you all but I have decided to part ways with Impaled. It has come to the time in my life where I feel that I need to move on and try new things.
"I've spent the best 4 years of my life with these guys, traveled the whole of the UK, played Download and also Bloodstock. I've learnt so much from them. I would like thank EVERYONE who has helped me and the band along over this time, the support from you guys has been unreal.
