Dutch act Detonation has issued the following announcement about band lineup changes:
"We have some good and some sad news! Sad news first...we parted ways with 3 band members recently. Danny and Michiel have gone on to seek their fame and fortune with God Dethroned and Prostitute Disfigurement. Due to their busy schedules it was impossible to keep playing in Detonation. However, we parted as friends and wish them good luck and much success in these bands.
"Also, after 12 years in Detonation Otto has decided to leave the band. His busy schedule with Delain prohibited his 100% focus and attention for Detonation, and as he did not think this was fair towards us, he respectfully gave up his role as bass player for Detonation. We will miss Otto as a friend and also wish him much success with Delain! More...
Vocalist Koen Romeijn of Dutch metal act Detonation has checked in with the following update about the band's activity:
"Dear friends, as you all will know by now, the music industry is a tough place nowadays for an underground metal band such as Detonation. We are still working on getting a record deal to release our new album 'Reprisal'. It's difficult, but don't worry, we'll get it released one way or another. It might take some time, but the wait will be worth it.
"Good news is that we are shooting a professional video clip for 'Washing away the blood' from the new album, together with the company Framecat from Belgium. It's half way done by now, and it looks pretty brutal. Can't wait to have it finished! If there's news, we'll let you know right away. Cheers."
Dutch metal band Delain has issued the following update welcoming their new bassist:
"We would like to introduce to you with pride our new fulltime Delain-member, Otto ‘the baron’ Schimmelpenninck van der Oije (Detonation), who will replace Rob on the bass. We are very happy to welcome Otto to the Delain family. Starting from our upcoming UK tour, he will join Delain live on stage. We will update our member profiles soon. Until then, you can get to know Otto by visiting his myspace."
"We would like to thank Rob for his years of dedication, musical craftmanship and the good times we had throughout the years. Rob’s official last show with delain will be at the Mezz in Breda."
Dutch metallers Detonation have announced their new album will be titled "Reprisal." The artwork for the album can be viewed here. Detonation also issued the following statement about the album:
"Finally! The new album is finished! We have set 'Reprisal' as the title for our 4th full length album. We're very pleased with the outcome of this CD, it's heavier than anything we've done in the past, and the songs also feel more personal and in your face. Our new band mates Michiel and Danny also put their mark on it, and both did an excellent job on 'Reprisal'. We have uploaded the song 'There is no turning Back' for you guys to check out. But as always, it's difficult to capture the whole albums' vibe with just 1 song. But anyway, check it out and let us know what you think! Right now, our top priority is to find a new record deal to release this monster. These are difficult times though, so we can use all the support we can get. Please get in touch via firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help us out in any way. Cheers!"
The track listing for "Reprisal" is as follows:
2. There is no turning Back
3. Feeding on the Madness
5. Absentia Mentis
6. Washing away the Blood
7. Falling Prey
8. Insults to my Heritage
Vocalist Koen Romeijn of Netherlands based death/thrash metal group Detonation has issued the following recording update:
"Last Sunday I finished recording all the vocals. It took a little longer than planned, but the result is very satisfying I must say. It's definitely another step forward after my vocal performance on 'Emission Phase', and a slightly more aggressive tone, which suits the new/more brutal direction we are heading with Detonation. So we're pretty much finished with the recordings. (except for 1 or 2 guitar leads) That means Harry van Breda will start the mixing soon. Can't wait to hear it! Expect some samples to arrive in the not-too-far distance."
Netherlands based death/thrash metal group Detonation has issued the following recording update:
"Studio update 2: The rhythm guitar tracks for our current pre-production have been recorded this weekend at our rehearsal space, and it sounds bad ass. Mike also recorded his leads, and Danny will start recording his lead guitar-work soon.
"Bass -recordings are up next! Pictures of the recordings will be uploaded soon!"
Netherlands based death/thrash metal group Detonation are currently preparing to enter the studio to record their fourth studio album. Lead vocalist Koen Romeijn has checked in with the following update:
"This weekend, Michiel (a.k.a. 'Plicht') will kick off the pre-production of our 4th studio album. He's got the weekend scheduled to record all the drum tracks for 9 new, brutal songs. In the producers' chair we have our good friend Harry van Breda (I-CHAOS).
"After this, Michiel will start touring across the world with GOD DETHRONED until mid-November. So in the meantime, we will work on the recordings, and get this thing rolling again. Can't wait to get into that whole recording process again, it's been almost 3 years since we recorded Emission Phase, so it's about time goddamnit! More...

"We had a blast in the UK during the past week! Despite two shows being canceled we did have a couple a very nice shows and one hell of a good time. Major thanks go out to the guys from Bloodshot Dawn, especially to Josh, who have been so kind to accommodate us, help us book the shows and support us on every one of them! Thanks as well to all other bands that supported us as well as everyone that showed up on the show, we hoped you guys enjoyed the new songs!
"New songs are also what we'll be focusing on the upcoming period. We have a fair amount of new material finished and will most likely hit the studios next month to record a couple of new songs. These recordings will mainly be to see how the new songs and line-up work out in de studios, but if they turn out well we might put something here on MySpace as well. Stay tuned for updates."
Dutch metallers Detonation has posted the following message online:
"We are very proud and excited to announce that Michiel van der Plicht (ex-PROSTITUTE DISFIGUREMENT, TOXOCARA) has decided to join Detonation permanently.

We're very excited to be among the first wave of international metal acts to play Indian and very proud to be the first heavy Dutch act ever to do so"
