Darkness By Oath Checks In From The Studio

Darkness By Oath has issued the following update about the guitar recording process for "Near Death Experience," the band's upcoming album:

"Hey people: Just wanted to update our recording diary, so here we go. Guitars are almost done, except some acoustic stuff that would be done later, but all in all, the whole songs are finally recorded the past week.

"Now, it's Gorka's turn on bass. He is at Auryn Studios with Tris recording the bass lines, and here's what he has to say about the recording so far: 'The bass recording is going as planned. We've half of the songs done already and the takes went good and smooth. I'm sure the bass sound is gonna be massive!'

"Gorka will probably end his part of the recording by the end of the week. Next one recording will be Aritz, but he won't start recording until we are back from our dates in Belgium on Easter."

The band's last studio update is also still available at this location.

Darkness By Oath Issues Recording Update

Spain's Darkness by Oath previously announced the band's upcoming album will be titled "Near Death Experience." The band has now checked in with the following update on the recording process:

"Maybe some of you were wondering about what's going on with the DBO guys, so now it's time to inform you about our current activities. The band entered Auryn Studios some weeks ago to record the third full length album, that will be released hopefully by the end of 2011.

"The 'Near Death Experience' sessions have already started, and by this time we have some of the work done. All the drums are finished by now, and the guitars are being recorded as you read this. Alain, Tris and Asier have been working hard on the drum stuff in order to improve the sound and dynamics of the drum section. We wanted to improve the previous albums' drum sound somehow and we think that we've got it.

"Regarding guitars, 6 songs are done already and another 4 to go. Tris and Alain have written some cool riffs, melodies and arrangements for this album we can tell you, and we're quite sure you'll like them a lot. As far as Tris said today, the recording is going smoothly and will end in about a week or so.

"Next to record will be Gorka on bass, and last but not least, Aritz on vocals. Almost all the lyrics are finished too (Aritz took care of them mostly, with some help from Alain and Asier), and the artwork is also in progress, as we've stated previously. Well, all this sums up what we've been up to lately. We'll keep you updated about how the rest of recording is going."

Darkness By Oath Issues New Album Update

Spain's Darkness By Oath has issued the following update about the band's upcoming album:

"Hi there: Just a little update about what's going on at the DBO camp. We're still working on the new album, and work's improving sound-wise and when it comes to the sons themselves too, so we are really happy about how it's getting into form, and really confident about the final result.

"We are working on a new myspace design as you read this. Hopefully it will be able in some weeks or so. The cover artwork (done by Nahikari - Auryn digital) is mostly finished and looks great. We will reveal it when the time is right you'll have to wait a little longer though.

"The new album title will be 'Near Death Experience,' and you'll find songs like, 'Fallen angel of death,' 'Last emotion,' 'NDE,' 'In an obscure eternity' to name a few.

"Apart from this, there would be some guest appearences in this our third album, some well known names and talented musicians that we really admire. It's fucking great to have them in our album!! We're eager to let you know who they are, but won't do yet, haha :P Well, that's it by now, have a nice weekend everyone! Rock on!"

Darkness By Oath Posts New Music Video Online

Spanish melodic death metal band Darkness By Oath has issued the following update regarding their debut of their latest music video:

"Here we are again with some good news for you all. First off, here's a new DBO videoclip filmed a couple of weeks ago by our good friend David Zabala from paneo360 (www.paneo360.com) It was done at our tiny rehearsal room and we used the track 'My own Mind' from our latest album 'Fear Yourself.' We can't thank David enough for such a good work, it was really fun recording the vid while we were rehearsing our live set, hope it's not the last time, Thanks bro!"

"This same day we did the photo shots for the forthcoming album and whatnot. Lots of pics were taken and you'll have the chance to see them when they're ready. Photo and video crew consisted in Nahikari, David, Argi, Nuria and Mr Osito who brought some amount of stuff you couldn't even imagine, hahaha."

"We're working on the two forthcoming gigs and the next album as you read this. Rehearsals are doing great, and we're really looking forward for that shows as it's quite some time since we played our last gig. Regarding the new album, Tris has come up with some excellent riffs so far, and all the song structures are mostly finished. Next album will probably include 12 tracks, and some cool surprises that we'll reveal when the time is right, haha." More...
