French act Bloody Sign has issued the following update about contributing a track to a Mortem tribute album:
"Peruvian label Heavier Records will soon release a tribute album dedicated to the absolute cult death metal entity Mortem. Bloody Sign is covering the song Death Rules Supreme, among other bands like Headhunter D.C, Karnarium, Kratornas, Mantak, Evildamn, Psicorragia... The tribute album should be released in end of November.
"The covered song has been recorded and mixed at Le Bon Home Studio by Sebastien Eidenschenck during December 2008 and mastered by Patrick Engel at Temple Of Disharmony studio in June 2010."
French dark death metalheads BLOODY SIGN will begin the pre-production for their third album during this week at le Bonhome studio. This album will contain 9 tracks, 3 instrumental interludes, a MORTEM (Peru) cover to appear on a tribute album, and should be entitled "Chaos Echoes." Recording the album will occur in spring 2009.
The band's last album, 2007's "Explosion of Elements," took BLOODY SIGN's blackened-death sound to sickening new heights, always using haunting melodies to convey an unparalleled thirst for blood and brutality. You can check out some of this past material on their MySpace page.
The "Chaos Echoes" track listing is as follows:
1. Serpent's Sky Secrets
2. Ghost Riders
3. Creation's Trilogy: Alone and Bored
4. Creation's Trilogy: Crushing the Master Tree
5. Creation's Trilogy: Iron Genesis
6. Wind of Vengeance
7. Wrath Omen
8. Apocalyptic Warriors
9. Uncontrolled (And Free of Will)
Cannibal Corpse checks after completing the first two weeks of their European tour:
“Hey everybody, I just wanted to let you all know how our European tour is going so far. Today we're playing in Slovenia, which will be the 14th show of the tour, so this show marks the halfway point. So far all of the shows have gone really well, the audiences have been excellent night after night. We also were very happy to finally play in Romania and Bulgaria. It was our first time playing in either of those countries, but it certainly won't be the last. Both countries have great death metal scenes, and we hope to return there when we tour for our next album. The other countries we've been through so far have been: France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, and Serbia, which was last night. We've met a ton of cool people at every show, so I'd like to say hello and thanks to any of you who might be reading this. OK, sound check is going to start in a few minutes, so I'd better get going. Thanks again to all the fans who have come to the shows so far, see the rest of you soon!"

Long-running California-based extreme metallers SADISTIC INTENT have commented on the reports that they will be touring Europe in July/August with a revamped version of San Francisco Bay Area metal legends POSSESSED - consisting of original frontman Jeff Becerra backed by members of SADISTIC INTENT. The following statement from SADISTIC INTENT was sent to blabbermouth.net:
"Apparently some one decided to make a flyer of the possible tour with POSSESSED (featuring original frontman Jeff Becerra backed by SADISTIC INTENT), SADISTIC INTENT, MORTEM, and PENTACLE. Although the tour is currently in a preliminary phase, we have not confirmed. After the word got out, we have received much e-mail from people in different countries with very positive feedback and we are grateful. However, we are not responsible for the premature tour announcement and if things don't go as planned, it is possible we will not be able to do this tour. As soon as we find out more information, we will make an official announcement. Nevertheless, thanks to all of you who have shown your support, it certainly is appreciated."
A limited-edition POSSESSED seven-inch single on multi-colored vinyl was released last year on Boneless Records in association with B.A.D.M./N.Y.D.M. Entitled "Ashes from Hell", the first 100 copies of the single came with a collector's pick.
Formed in the early '80s, POSSESSED released "Seven Churches" via Combat Records in 1985. They would follow with "Beyond the Gates" and the five-song EP "The Eyes of Horror" before disbanding several years later. A best of was released, "Victims of Death", in 1993.
