Dark Forest (UK) Recruits New Guitarist
U.K. act Dark Forest has issued the following announcement about upcoming activity and recruiting a new guitarist:
"Over the last couple of months things may have seemed quiet in the Dark Forest camp but under the surface there has been a lot going on! Firstly, we have been busily engaged in the writing and rehearsing of a new album which will be released some point later this year.
"Secondly, it is our painful duty to announce that James Lees has left the band. He decided to call it a day, saying that he feels his time in the band has run its course and he wants to explore and concentrate on other areas in his life. We respect his decision and would like to thank Jim for his huge contribution in making Dark Forest what it is and for all the fun we’ve had over the last ten years!
"Thirdly, we have been extremely fortunate in finding a new guitarist who is, we all agree, the only person who could possibly have replaced Jim.
"So it is our delight to announce that Patrick Jenkins is officially on board with us as second lead guitarist. Pat has been our friend for many years and has supported the band since the early days. His guitar skills have blown us away, his sense of melody and song writing are completely akin to Dark Forest and as Jim mentioned, he has been playing guitar with Christian in their folk project Grene Knyght for a number of years so he was always the perfect choice to fill Jims shoes. Dark Forest Recruits New Vocalist
U.K. act Dark Forest has issued the following announcement about recruiting a new vocalist:
"We're very pleased to announce Josh Winnard as the new vocalist for Dark Forest! We played our first gig with Josh last night which was met with great enthusiasm and excitement from the crowd!
"We have also re-recorded a section of the song 'A Deadly Premonition' as a demo track with Josh's vocals which you can listen to here on our page. Thanks to Jonathyn Morgan for the recording and mixing!

Dark Forest Streaming Songs From New Album
On Tuesday, November 8th, Cruz del Sur Music will release "Dawn Of Infinity," the sophomore full-length offering from U.K. traditional metallers Dark Forest, onto North American soil.
Two tracks from "Dawn Of Infinity" are now available for streaming via the label’s official Facebook page. Check out the tracks “Light Years On” and “Under The Greenwood Tree” at this location.
Cruz del Sur Music signed Dark Forest in June of this year as the band entered the studio to record "Dawn Of Infinity," after watching the young Birmingham, England-based outfit evolve over the last few years.
The label commented on the album, "Bearing a strong appreciation for the forefathers of the genre, and producing the full-blooded sound of a distinctly English brand of heavy metal, the new album fulfills the expectations placed on one of the most interesting bands in the UK’s contemporary traditional metal scene, infusing British folklore and Celtic inspiration into their craft." Dark Forest Signs To Cruz Del Sur
Cruz del Sur Music has issued the following announcement about signing a deal with U.K. act Dark Forest (not to be confused with the Canadian band of the same name):
"Cruz del Sur Music welcomes Dark Forest to the label's ever-expanding roster, having just inked a recent deal for the band's upcoming album.
"A young band based out of Birmingham, England, Dark Forest has been knocking skulls around for a few years now, after the release of their self titled debut album on Eyes Like Snow Records in January 2009. Their traditional take on heavy metal is as British-sounding as some of the best NWOBHM bands, reinterpreted with a modern production’s punch able to make them stand out alone.
