Machinergy Posts "Sounds Evolution" Video

Portugal trio Machinergy just released a new video for the song "Sounds Evolution" from the 2014 album with the same name.

The band spent the last few months working on this ambitious video clip. Vocalist Rui Vieira comments: "We record it all in chroma key. This technique allow us to create the background we wish during the editing."

"Sounds Evolution" is dominated by green tones and there is a reason for that. The song deals with the unstable and fragile Mother Nature but it goes further than that, with Rui adding: "We wanted to denounce the big business that nature is nowadays. Big worlwide corporations could care less about pollution. In fact, they advocate it and make us pay tons of taxes in the name of recycling and other stuff but at the same time they produce in Pakistan, India and China anyhow, at any price. That's why the chorus is 'beware the green lie.'" More...

Machinergy Working On Album

After offering up a Ramone's cover back in June, Portugal's based trio Machinergy now announces the writing for a new record has began.

"We are really looking forward to start shaping the new songs, new ideas. The third album is important, is where you establish your style, your sound," says Rui Vieira [vocals and guitar].

About the direction of the new material, Rui unveils a little more: "We want to introduce new dynamics, new sounds and ambiances in our music. The drafts we're working on, already denote some personality and individuality between them. I think there will be some (good) surprises!"

Machinergy has so far released two studio albums, "Rhythmotion" [2010] and "Sounds Evolution" [2014]. About a date to release the new record, Rui states: "2016 will be the year of our tenth anniversary, so it would be nice we could make it on time, but it's early to know that."

Machinergy Covers "I Don't Care"

Machinergy has a cover of "I Don't Care" by the Ramones, which can be heard below. Vocalist / guitarist Rui Vieira also comments:

"Believe it or not, they are one of our major influences! Joey, Johnny, Tommy, Dee Dee, this one is for you, my friends! Ramones forever!!! 'I Don’t Care' from the Ramones is the first version of a song from another band made by Machinergy.

"This connection with the Raomnes comes from the time we started the three (Rui, Helder and Nuno, current members of Machinergy) playing in our first project called Mortalha. By that time (90/91), my uncle’s father offered me 'It's Alive,' purchased at the Feira da Ladra market in Lisbon. I think this album worked for all of us as the true definition of what rock n’ roll is.

"Of all the songs on this double gatefold vinyl, 'I Don’t Care' was the one that stood out and from there until we started playing it was a step. Looking back, 'I Don’t Care' was the very first full song we rehearsed. This after entering in our life... the mighty power chord! More...

The band also previously commented on the EP:

"We’re on full power working on our next release 'Rhythm Between Sounds,' scheduled to be out soon. What we can say for now is that it will be a different presentation of a record. Initially, we recorded 4 new songs ('1988,' 'Machinevil,' 'Trapollution,' and 'Dynamica') for an EP but because Machinergy likes to push the envelope, 'Rhythm Between Sounds' started to evolve for something slightly different! We’re working hard on this one but we’re sure it will be welcomed by all metal maniacs, in particular the Portuguese metal crowd. Cheers and stay tunned!"
