Chicago-based noise machines, WINTERS IN OSAKA, have completed work on their next full-length. The record, "Molded to Crawl," was recorded over a six-months, which allowed the trio to complete several tours (including a Canadian run with THE ENDLESS BLOCKADE and a Southwestern jaunt with fellow noisenik MYKEL BOYD) and record several other collaborative releases (including one with Spanish goregrind legends MACHETAZO) during that time.
Mixed and mastered by studio member Greg Ratajczak, Molded to Crawl promises to deliver even more of the frightening brilliance found on past WINTERS IN OSAKA records. The album features appearances by: Rich Hoak (BRUTAL TRUTH, TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION), Topon Das (FUCK THE FACTS), DEATH AGONIES (aka THE ENDLESS BLOCKADE), Chris Dodge (DESPISE YOU, SPAZZ, EAST WEST BLAST TEST), John Hoffman (WEEKEND NACHOS), and Toney Vast Binder (HARPOON, 7000 DYING RATS). Chicago, Illinois' Hewhocorrupts has officially announced the departure of frontman Tommy Camaro. According to the band, "We would like to thank Mr. Camaro all his dedication and perseverance through his tenure with the corporation. We wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors." Replacing Camaro is Toney Vast-Binder of 7000 Dying Rats. Vast-Binder will make his live debut with the band on February 6th at the Empty Bottle in Chicago.
7000 Dying Rats have posted four songs from their upcoming album, including an unusual cover of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid", on MySpace. Season In Hell will be released through Hewhocorrupts Inc on January 9th.
Chicago comedy grind band 7000 Dying Rats will release their third album, Season in Hell, January 9. The 28-track recording is the band's first since 2001's The Sound of No Hands Clapping.
Hewhocorrupts Inc. has announced the signing of 7000 Dying Rats to its roster. 7000 Dying Rats will release its first full-length in over five years, entitled Season In Hell, on November 6, 2006.
7000 Dying Rats' brand of comedic grindcore can be summed up with many key marketable terms; diversified, mitigating, volatile, efficient, etc. When explaining the 7KDR sound to an unnamed photographer, screamer Toney Vast-Binder explained, "we kinda sound like this pizza that I'm eating, I guess you can classify us as garbage grind". The group's penchant for delivering extremely eclectic music while holding on to their comedic roots has confusingly scored the group a well-attentive audience (blood) thirsty for a new record.
Their lineup over the past 10+ years has remained as sporatic as their sound, including members of Cattle Decapitation, My Lai, TV Pow, and many more. The current lineup consists of Steve Rathbone and D.J. Barraca (Lair of the Minotaur), Toney Vast-Binder (Gun Kata), Josh Diebel (The Christpunchers), and Weasel Walter (Flying Luttenbachers, XBXRX) with additional work on the record contributed by Scott Kelly (Neurosis). 7KDR's abundant discography includes two full-lengths, a triple 7" box set, two 7"s, two tapes, and countless compilations on a wide variety of record labels, including Toyo, Tumult, Invisible, etc.
Season In Hell is currently being recorded at Volume Studios (Lair of the Minotaur, Modern Life Is War, Pelican) with Sanford Parker. When asked about the signing, Andy Slania and Ryan Durkin of Hewhocorrupts Inc concluded, "We are very excited to be a part of the future of 7000 Dying Rats. Hewhocorrupts would not be a band or have the sound that we do if it wasn't for them. I think it is important to for everyone to hear another 7000 Dying Rats record. Besides the fact that we feel like strippers on ecstacy just knowing one is coming out. This is a controlled composition. But make no mistake this will be a 7000 Dying Rats record, unchanged and the way they and they alone envision it."
