NASUM drummer Anders Jakobson has posted the following message on the group's official web site:
"Today I got a very appreciated package from Denmark with NASUM's three shows from Japan January 2004 on CD. Our Danish sound engineer Bo Lund has really taken his time sending me these CDs but, boy, was it worth the wait!
"I remember quite clearly how we sat in a hotel corridor in Osaka listening to the show we did just hours before by passing around Bo's minidiscplayer and headphones and just DIED by the great quality of the sound! It was really releaseable (is that a word?).
"I've just recently listened through that recording and it's without doubt the best live recording of NASUM that I have heard. It captures the massive sound we had live and the takes sound pretty OK as well.
"I will soon pick out the best stuff, polish it a little bit and prepare it for release. The idea is to do a live split with NAPALM DEATH (also recorded at the same tour), but I don't know when and how it's going to be released. I know Shane [Embury, NAPALM DEATH bassist] wants to release it on the FETO label. We'll see.
"I will share a track or two in a couple of days so you can hear for yourself how great this MINIDISC RECORDING (!) actually sounds!"
NAPALM DEATH frontman Mark "Barney" Greenway has commented on the band's upcoming North American tour with OBITUARY, which is scheduled to kick off in early September. Also appearing on the bill are DEAD TO FALL.
Says Barney: "We're very happy to be getting toghether with OBITUARY again because it will kind of rerprise the Campaign For Musical Destruction thing from the early Nineties, which was a lot of fun. Those guys are quite close friends of ours, and it will be interesting to see how they are live since their 'reformation.' I'm excited, but then again, aren't I always!!!!"

Most Precious Blood have dropped off Napalm Death's upcoming European tour. MPB was to support Napalm Death, along with Diecast, for the seven week trek, which is running through June and into July. States the band, "This all happened quite suddenly. To put it as diplomatically as possible, some promises that were made to us were not being kept and now there is no way we can afford to do a 7 week tour in Europe." The group expects to be back in Europe by the end of this year.
Napalm Death is currently working on a new video clip for the album’s opening track “Silence Is Deafening”. Roger Johansson, who also worked on the last clips for The Haunted and Dark Tranquillity to mention but a few will be on charge of this one with recordings taking place in Gothenburg, Sweden.

UK black metallers ANAAL NATHRAKH have posted the following message:
Following the recent live session, the BBC will be taking the arguably irresponsible step of broadcasting Anaal Nathrakh playing as a full band from their Maida Vale studios. The show goes out on the evening of the 22nd of March at 1am UK time, and can also be heard through the BBC website both live and for a week or so after broadcast. 3 tracks were performed with, as mentioned, a full band lineup comprising the Anaal Nathrakh duo, Shane Embury ( NAPALM DEATH), Nick Barker ( ex- DIMMU BORGIR), Ventnor and Chemical Nova.
The recordings were described at the BBC studio as a 'grotesque abomination'. This is considered apposite by all involved.
Napalm Death are releasing their new masterpiece “The Code Is Red...Long Live The Code” on April 25th. You can now check out the album’s crushing opening track “Silence Is Deafening” here.
To collect as much donation money as possible for the victims of the Tsunami catastrophe, Napalm Death, The Haunted and Heaven Shall Burn decided to do an unconventional CD-Single release. The first 10 copies of the strictly limited to a 1,000 edition of the Tsunami charity compilation single being auctioned via eBay over the next 10 weeks, one after another each week, starting now. The very special first copy is at auction now and can be found here. These hand numbered collector items are originally signed by all appearing bands (Napalm Death, The Haunted and Heaven Shall Burn). The single features Napalm Death’s brand-new track “The Great And The Good” (feat. Jello Biafra on guest-vocals) from their upcoming album “The Code Is Red… Long Live The Code.” The Haunted picked the song “Smut King” from the digipak-pressing of their acclaimed current album “rEVOLVEr” and Heaven Shall Burn added “Strassenkampf” (originally by Die Skeptiker and feat. guitarist Patrick Schleitzer on vocals), the exclusive bonus-track of the Korean pressing of “Antigone.” All bands and Jello Biafra wrote liner-notes for the single’s booklet.
All proceeds of the single will be collected and donated to the Red Cross.

British Black metallers ANAAL NATHRAKH have psoted the following message:
"The BBC have again asked the band to perform a set, this time to be aired on the
Radio 1 Rock Show (broadcast date currently TBC).
To make the occasion particularly interesting, Anaal Nathrakh will, for the first time ever, be performing as a full band. Currently planned to flesh out the lineup are Nick Barker [ ex- DIMMU BORGIR] and Shane Embury [ NAPALM DEATH], although precise details remain to be seen.
Former FEAR FACTORY guitarist Dino Cazares has quit BRUJERIA, the extreme metal project he co-founded 16 years ago.
According to Dino, he made the decision to leave the group in order to spend more time working on a new band he recently formed with ex-DIMMU BORGIR/CRADLE OF FILTH drummer Nick Barker. "Sometimes you have too many projects and one always suffers," Dino explained.
Although BRUJERIA's most recent touring lineup included Barker and bassist Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH), neither musician will continue to perform with the group, according to Cazares. It is not presently clear if singer John Lepe (a.k.a. Juan Brujo) — the band's sole remaining member — will attempt to carry on with BRUJERIA using replacement musicians.
Formed in 1989, BRUJERIA released four full-length albums through the Roadrunner label and boasted a revolving lineup of high-profile musicians, including former FAITH NO MORE bassist Billy Gould and FEAR FACTORY drummer Raymond Herrera.
Despite his split with BRUJERIA, Cazares will continue his involvement with ASESINO, the BRUJERIA off-shoot project that also features in its ranks STATIC-X bassist Tony Campos on bass/vocals and SADISTIC INTENT drummer Emilio Marquez.
Dino's as-yet-unnamed collaboration with Barker recently recorded a two-song instrumental demo with producer James Murphy (TESTAMENT, DEATH, OBITUARY) and is currently seeking a bassist and singer.
The 2005 edition of the Up From The Ground festival is scheduled for August 26th - 27th in Gemunden/Steinwiesen, Germany.
The latest acts confirmed for the festival are ANTICHRIST, END OF GREEN, EKTOMORF, DARK AGE and DEFLESHED.
