Released for Record Store Day this past weekend, the new 7” from Lair of the Minotaur is now available direct from the band in extremely limited quantities -- act now or be forced to live with owning only a digital copy for eternity.

Celebrating ten years of carnage, and being specifically being released as part of Record Store Day, the two-song "Godslayer" 7” is the first new material from LOTM since the 2010-released fourth full-length "Evil Power." The "Godslayer" track listing is:
1. Godslayer 04:14
2. The Black Heart of the Stygian Drakonas 04:03 More...
Celebrating ten years of clear-cut maliciousness through Greek mythology and unchecked riff savagery in 2013, Chicago trio Lair of the Minotaur will storm back with a new EP this Spring.
While the members of Lair of the Minotaur have been skulking around in the back-alleys of the underground over recent months, the band has been far from dormant. To commemorate a full decade of demolishing eardrums on record and on stage this year, the band will hammer its fanbase with a brand new EP for this year’s Record Store Day.
Entitled "Godslayer," the new 7” release bears two new tracks, with the surge of "Godslayer" opening up, and the monolithic "The Black Heart of the Stygian Drakonas" on the B-side, both tracks mastered by Scott Hull (Pig Destroyer). More...
Chicago’s Earthen Grave welcomes Chris Wozniak (Lair of the Minotaur), as the band’s new drummer, who is replacing previous member Scott Davidson.
Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Chris "Woz" Wozniak has performed on drums in a variety of rock, folk, and metal bands for over 20 years. He has played with local acts Trifog and Blood of Martyrs, and is currently the drummer for national acts I Klatus and Lair of the Minotaur. In reference to LOTM’s 2008 release "War Metal Battle Master," Decibel Magazine described Woz as being "skilled at treating his drum kit like trash cans that must be killed." It’s this very intensity which made him the perfect fit for Chicago’s epic doom collective.

Bolt Thrower has released this bit of news regarding their first trip to the USA in 14 years:
"Due to the fact that we are not real festival lovers or great fans of flying, the chances of us ever coming to the States for a one-off show was always very small. But after years of relentless emails from Ryan we've finally given in. It's hard to believe that it's been 14 years since we last played in the US, so we are very happy to announce that we are finally coming back. Bolt Thrower will be playing Maryland Deathfest VII, on May 22-24, 2009, at Sonar, Baltimore, MD."
A few more bands were exected to be included in this announcement, but the organizers are still working on the details. Therefore, another announcement is expected with even more band confirmations in the near future, as they wrap up the booking process for Maryland Deathfest 2009
Tickets will definitely go on sale on Friday, November 7th.

On July 30, Boris hit a mid-sized Vancouver bar called Richards On Richards. You should know for next time: before you head to a Boris show, you'd better square up with the universe. There's no nine-foot skinhead to boot your face in the moshpit, there's nobody in the bathroom doing coke off a bowie knife -- but you could still get hurt. It's those ultra-low frequencies, back and forth between your nervous system and bowels, until your spine explodes and paints the back wall pink. So square up first. I'm talking prayer bowls and mantras, I'm talking incense -- but shove the smouldering incense cones right into your eardrums, for Satan's sake. Sandalwood or patchouli earplugs. This is metal here, true metal, no matter how much attention the drummer pays to his huge silver gong. More...
Georgian metallers, KYLESA, have issued the following update:
"It's been a while since our last update so here you go: We've been writing a new record over the past few months and we're about to head to the Jam Room studio on Monday [July 21] to begin tracking. We're excited to record a new album since it's been two years since we recorded 'Time Will Fuse its Worth.'" More...

The video for "War Metal Battle Master" has reaped massive response online for the band and is now attacking the world via MTV2s Headbangers Ball this week. Directed by Gary Smithson (High on Fire, Goatwhore, Exodus, Tomahawk) the video is one of the goriest, violent and most METAL videos ever. On the making of the video, LOTM frontman Steve Rathbone comments: "Gary approached us at the Murderfest in LA in March '07, wanting to direct a video for us. I told him I didn’t want to make a normal video - I hate most videos. But I already had an idea for the track War Metal Battle Master." More...
