Western Canada's decibel-breaking heavy metal festival Loud As Hell returns for its sixth consecutive year presented by Semchuk Productions, Jurassic Ink Custom Tattoo, Prairie Fire Events, and Asher Media Relations.
Hosted in the Alberta badlands in Drumheller, this year's three day festival from August 4th-6th features 40 bands from across Western Canada and beyond. Ready to resurrect the roaring echoes of the dinosaurs that once ruled the area millions of years ago, the 2017 headliners Battlecross will be melting the faces off headbangers and sure to stir a massive pit along with stoner rockers Black Wizard, fellow sludge riffers Bison, and Canadian 80's thrash group Aggression. Trivium has officially confirmed that the band has tapped drummer Alex Bent (Dragonlord, ex-Battlecross, etc.) for the upcoming European/UK tour. Rumors of Bent being recruited by the band first emerged a few weeks back.
Trivium bassist Paolo Gregoletto tweeted Bent‘s yesterday: "So as to who is playing for us in the UK/EU… Alex sent us this video two days after being put in touch with him. We also had a few weeks of rehearsal together in November."
Motor City noise rock collective Child Bite will kick off 2017 with a seventeen-date U.S. tour supporting label mates Superjoint. The band's latest journey will commence on January 12th and run through February 3rd and features additional support from fellow Detroit thrashers Battlecross.
Additionally, Child Bite will perform at the For The Sick Benefit, a three-day festival-style event organized for Eyehategod frontman Mike IX Williams, who successfully underwent a liver transplant late last month.
Comments Child Bite frontman Shawn Knight: "We are honored to the core of our miserable existence to go on tour again with Phil, Jimmy, Kevin, Stephen, and Joey a.k.a., Super-fucking-joint. What they see in us, we may never know. Surprisingly, we've only played with Battlecross once ever, even though we both 'hail' from the Metro Detroit area. They look like a bunch of sweet peas so I'm sure we'll get along. So yeah... Let's have fun and do irreparable damage to our bodies and reputations on this outing, ok?" More...

October 22, 2016-Texas Revolution Festival held in Austin is a festival run by promoters Come And Take It Productions.
I’ve covered a lot of Come And Take It shows for Metalunderground.com, including the spring version of the festival, Texas Independence Fest in 2015. That festival featured such bands as Between The Buried And Me, Vital Remains, White Chapel, COC, Death Angel and Cavalera Conspiracy. Tonight billed such artists as Hatebreed, Devildriver, Soilwork and Crowbar.
The Independence Festival was a three-day outing, while Texas Revolution was only one day. Both festivals were held at the same venue—Empire Control Room & Garage. The Control Room stage was an smaller, inside stage that held many of the lesser-known and local acts. Ringworm headlined that stage. The Garage is an outside stage that housed the headliners.
