Swedish metal band Wasted Shells just issued the following statement via Facebook about deciding to call it day:
"Yes it is true, we are done. We have decided to let this monster sleep. This band has been such a huge part of our lives for so long, and at this point we feel that it is time for us to go our separate ways. What that means for Wasted Shells is only for the future to tell.
"We would like to thank everyone that has ever been involved in this band, from when we started out 9 years ago, up until this very point. There's too many to mention. We are really proud of what we have achieved, this year in particular has been amazing for us, with the gig at Sweden Rock and the release of 'Dark Matter.' We have experienced some really cool times together.
"So to everyone that ever came to one of our shows, ever listened to our music, bought a t-shirt or whatever: THANK YOU! We want to end this on a positive note, with one final show. We will perform our last show on the 25th of December in Lund at Club Messed Up. One last mosh!" More...

The Swedish thrashers in Wasted Shells have checked in with the following year-end recap and update on a new album's progress:
"We have spent the better half of the year recording our new album. It's been a long process, but we honestly think it's the best music we've written so far, and we can't wait to share it with you all. Some of the songs have already been played live, and by the response we've been given, you seem to agree.
"We have some pretty cool news coming your way for 2013, and as always, the best way to see what the hell we are up to, is to follow us on Facebook.
"So we'll raise our glasses for everyone who keeps supporting us, buys our stuff, and comes to the gigs!

"The album will contain 9 songs and song titles include 'Used to be Mine,' 'The Atheist' and 'Machine' and will be heavy as hell, yet moody and fast, just the way we want it!
