Krisiun just released "Scars Of Hatred" from upcoming album "Forged In Fury," due out worldwide via Century Media Records on August 7th, 2015.
The album will be available as a limited edition digipak including two bonus tracks as well as a woven patch, and 180g gatefold 2 LP edition with etching (including the album on CD) and as a digital download.
"Forged In Fury" was produced by Erik Rutan and the stunning cover artwork was created by renowned artist Joe Petagno. Krisiun comments:
"[The album] marks our return to the studio after 3 years of constantly touring all over the globe. Things were working well as we were always satisfied with the results of the previous records, but we thought that it was time for a change. Erik Rutan was the chosen one to be the producer, at Mana Recording Studios in Florida.
"This album could be described as a 'more natural' sounding album; the songs came out with more ambience and more low-end, making it sound even more brutal and straight-forward. It took us a lot of hard work and dedication, no fashions or tendencies were followed, this is a true relentless metal album to the bone, with a huge, natural sound. The song writing captures all the experience and feelings we gathered thru all the years of touring and recording, it has more variation and dynamics, but is still 100% Krisiun.
"Erik has a huge participation within the whole process, especially with regards to the band's performance. He was able to get the best out of each one of us, as we have been friends for a long time, so it was a pleasure working with him. This album was made with a lot of heart and passion for metal music. Hopefully you metal maniacs enjoy it as much as we did working it out." More...

The death metal maniacs from Krisiun just entered Mana Recording Studios in Florida to start the recording of their new album, set to be released in the late Summer / early Autumn of 2015.
The producer of the new album is nobody less than Erik Rutan, the brain and heart of death metal masters Hate Eternal and former guitarist for Morbid Angel. Rutan comments:
"Working with Krisiun at Mana Recording is such an honor for me. We worked together on 'Conquerors of Armageddon' in 1999 during the beginning stages of my producing career and for us to work together again now is just fantastic!
"Krisiun is one of the best death metal bands out there. Their bond musically and creatively is so unique. The new material is outstanding....fast and heavy with this savage primal brutality! Lots of vibe and dynamics. The drum tones and performances came out pummeling. The rhythm guitars are huge and tight as hell. The bass is punishingly heavy and attacking. We have started tracking vocals now and starting to work on additional guitars and solos as well. This will be an album every death metal fan surely cannot miss!" More...
The "Devastation On The Nation" Tour today announces Origin and Krisiun as co-headliners of this year's edition of the tour.
Supporting bands have been revealed as Aeon, Soreption, Alterbeast and Ingested.

Industrial doom outfit Crown will be playing at this year's edition of the Kaltenbach Open Air Festival (replacing the black metalers of Hellsaw who recently called it quits). Hailing from France, Crown (not to be confused with The Crown) consists of two men and a machine who tune their neutron guitars to the Richter scale, and deliver the sound of a molten universe collapsing.

If you are planning your Summer vacation and are looking for a place where your favourite bands might have a show, where the beer is outrageously cheap, and the landscape is awesome, you might want to try the lands of Transylvania.
We’re talking about a particular place from this region: Rasnov city, placed in the heart of Romania, near the legendary Castle of Dracula.
Here, an international extreme metal festival is to be held August 12th – 15th 2015: the Rockstadt Extreme Fest. The full ineup includes 45 bands with names such as Moonspell, At The Gates, Marduk, Combichrist, Ensiferum, Kataklysm, Carnifex, Taake, Cattle Decapitation, White Walls, Krisiun, Be'lakor, Suicidal Angels, and many more confirmed.
Besides good music, you’ll be able to enjoy urban sports in a special area inside the festival site, see movies in the dedicated outdoor cinema (set-up in collaboration with the Dracula Film Fest), and more. For further details, head over to this location. More...

The band comments: "We made this video clip in celebration of 4 years of relentlessly touring around the globe in support of the album 'The Great Execution.'
"This video features live footage shots from most of the festivals and clubs we played on this tour so far, just for you to feel the live energy of the band, from big festivals to small clubs. No fake fantasy or bullshit, just the sheer power we deliver in our live shows.
"During the past 4 years we played in various countries around the world and we'll be wrapping up this world tour now by hitting places we haven't played before yet on this cycle, this time going to Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Dubai/Emirates."
Krisiun has also started working on a new album, which is set for release in 2015. Moyses Kolesne (guitar) comments: "We already have 8 new songs for the new album. We are still writing some more songs, and I can say we are very satisfied with the results. It's going to be recorded around February/March 2015, with a possible release in the summer of 2015." As most sports fans, and even many who aren’t, are aware, today marks the final day of the FIFA World Cup, the largest international tournament in the sporting world. This year, it was held in Brazil, a country known globally for their love of and talent for football. But there’s another area the Brazilians seem to excel at, as Sunday Old School has shown in the past by highlighting such bands as Ratos de Parão and Sarcófago, and that is that Brazil has given birth to some of the most crushing metal bands of all time, as we’ll see today by taking a look at another of their excellent exports, Krisiun. The band was formed in Ijuí, Rio Grande do Sul, in 1990 by three brothers, Moyses and Max Kolesne, who handled guitar and drum duties respectively and singing bassist, Alex Camargo, who uses their mothers maiden name. They were heavily influenced by the aggressive metal of such acts as Morbid Angel and Slayer and recorded two demos before deciding that their career would stand more of a chance if they moved to Sao Paulo in 1995, where they were almost immediately spotted and signed by Dynamo Records.
The band recorded and released their debut studio album, "Black Force Domain" that same year and displayed their influences proudly with covers of "Nuclear Winter" by Sodom and the Kreator track, "Total Death." The album was well received by the death metal fans who heard it and soon afterwards, their brutal sound was to be brought to a larger audience when they signed with German record label, GUN. The group’s first release through their new label came in 1998 with the album, "Apocalyptic Revelations," which was also met with a positive response amongst the death metal community. More...

“Fuck all this ‘thrash,’ ‘black,’ ‘power’ bullshit,” snarls the towering mountain of a bassist from stage right. “It’s all Metal, right? That’s why we’re all here.”
Coming from Marcel “Schmier” Schirmer, a genre veteran and one of thrash metal’s European founders, these are powerful words. They serve as a reminder of Destruction’s influences – which, considering the German band’s pioneer status, are decidedly traditional – and its legacy, which includes death and black metal.
All told, Schmier has made it credibly clear that tonight is about celebrating Metal, with that capital “M.” Being heavy, playing your heart out, thrashing, rocking. ‘Banging, for those who can use the word “bangover” with a straight face. That’s a multi-context word if I’ve ever heard one. More...

This year marks 15 years of Obscene Extreme and to celebrate the occasion the organizers of the festival decided to go all out in extreme style by hosting an additional three festivals in three additional continents.
Over the last few months Obscene Extreme has appeared in Mexico City - Mexico, Jakarta - Indonesia, and Melbourne - Australia. There has been much success but also some failures and after some time at home to reflect on the adventure the man behind the whole idea, Curby, has spoken about the experience on the run up to the final Obscene Extreme Festival in Czech Republic this July:
"Hello freaks!!! This is Curby/obscene... I believe that you our loyal OEF fans have followed us on our tour so you probably know what happened but for those who haven't I would like to sum up our first ever OEF World tour. When I was pondering over our plans for the World tour I was really full of enthusiasm (and actually I still am). I hoped for something new but our first world volume was a really tough game, not only financially but also emotionally. It's very difficult to understand how big differences are between Europe, Mexico and Indonesia... I knew it would be different, but so much? What can you do if you pay everything in advance as in Mexico and people don't work at all? Not much... when you read my statements for every continent, you`ll understand me... More...
Goremasters Aborted have cancelled their North American tour plans. In regards to this cancellation, front-man Sven de Caluwé comments:
"Unfortunately rumors are true. We were forced to pull out of our North American tour with Hypocrisy, Krisiun, and Arsis. Due to reasons beyond control, Hypocrisy was not able to receive US visas in time and had to pull out.
"We only found out 3 days ago and were sharing transport with Hypocrisy. Being this close to the start of tour, finding an affordable method of transportation and a driver was a near impossible task, making it impossible for us to still make it. We are extremely disappointed as we were very excited to make it back out to the US for our fans and share the stage on this great line-up.
"We had flights booked, visas processed, and everything was good to go, so when the news hit, it came as a shock. This cost us several thousands of dollars out of our own pockets and continuing would cost us even more money, which we simply don't have. We apologize to the fans and are already looking for a replacement tour in the near future.
"Krisiun and Arsis are still doing the tour, and we urge you all to still go and support them. All the bands here are victims in this of bureaucratic procedures, so no need to point fingers. We are all as broken by this as anyone else."
Brazil's Krisiun will now headline this North American trek with Arsis as direct support (Autumns End and Starkill will also play select shows). The newly revamped itinerary can be found here.
It was recently announced that Hypocrisy would have to miss the band's upcoming North American tour due to visa problems, but that Arsis, Krisiun, Autumns End, and Starkill would be continuing with the trek. Arsis has now checked in with the following update about the tour schedule:
"IMPORTANT: Updated tour schedule below. We need all the support we can get on this one, PLEASE check the list below for your city and come out to support Arsis and Krisiun and keep the metal touring circuit alive! We really appreciate it and can't wait to unleash the heaviest set we've ever played on you all!
"Promoters in Oakland, CA and Stafford, CT have cancelled. Trenton, NJ has been added. Some other shows have changed venues." More...
Hypocrisy has been forced to sit out the upcoming North American tour this May due to reasons beyond the band's control. Hypocrisy comments:
"The band members had received their visa approvals and everything was going as scheduled, until the embassy let them know that the earliest they could pick up their visas, get them stamped and so on, wasn't until late June at the earliest. A regular procedure that would normally take just a few days to sort, takes much longer at the moment due to that current workload Homeland Security is experiencing."
“As we were getting ready to go get our visas stamped and ready for the tour we were informed that the earliest we could go initially was sometime in July,” explains guitarist/vocalist Peter Tägtgren. “We then immediately continued to call them, got the label to help with some letters, and put our lawyer to work etc. The best that got us was an appointment in late June. This is a HUGE blow to us, to our fans and everyone who has supported Hypocrisy in North America. Sometimes there are battles you can’t win, and this is one of them. We will be back, I can promise that!”
The trek was also initially set to feature Brazilian brothers in death Krisiun, Belgian gore-grinders Aborted, and technical-melodic-death-masters Arsis, as well as Autumn's End and Starkill on select shows. The tour will continue as previously scheduled at this time minus Hypocrisy and Aborted. More...
