Sepultura Confirms Date For Final Show
After more than four decades of bringing Brazilian heavy music to the world’s biggest stages, Sepultura have officially announced the final show of their career. The historic performance will take place on 7 November 2026 at the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu in São Paulo Brazil, marking the end of one of the most influential journeys in the history of heavy metal worldwide.
The choice of the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu holds special meaning for the band. The venue has been part of Sepultura’s history since the early 1990s, especially because of the iconic concert held at Praça Charles Miller, in front of the stadium, which helped establish the band’s strength in Brazil. Decades later, Sepultura returns to the same place to close its story, where part of that legacy was also built.
More than a farewell concert, the night is being conceived as a grand celebration of Sepultura’s history, bringing together different generations, eras and artists who have become part of the band’s journey over the past 40 years. The idea is to transform the final show into a unique moment of tribute, connection and celebration of Brazilian heavy music and its global impact.
Among the international acts already confirmed is Metal Allegiance, featuring some of the most respected musicians in the global metal scene, including Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater, Alex Skolnick and Chuck Billy of Testament, Phil Demmel, formerly of Machine Head, Troy Sanders of Mastodon, and bassist/founder Mark Menghi.
The line-up will also feature confirmed appearances by Krisiun, one of the world’s most respected death metal bands, and American thrash metal band Sacred Reich. Additional special guests will be announced soon.
Former members and musicians connected to Sepultura’s history over the decades are also expected to join the celebration, including Jean Dolabella and Jairo Guedz, the latter of whom was part of the band’s original line-up.
Sepultura’s final show at the Mercado Livre Arena Pacaembu promises to be a historic, emotional and unforgettable night, a farewell befitting the band’s importance to both Brazilian culture and the global heavy metal scene.
Abysmal Dawn Premiere New Single & Music Video

Abysmal Dawn have unveiled their new single, “Cradle Of Affliction,” just ahead of their upcoming North American trek with Krisiun, Pyrexia, and Gorgatron. The Californian death metal outfit recently began recording their sixth studio album this past September, with further details on that release still forthcoming. Elliot further emphasized that no artificial intelligence was utilized in the making of either the song or its accompanying music video, which was directed by Robert Graves and can be viewed below:
“The music is written played, recorded and mixed by humans. The artwork was created by a human. The music video was shot and edited by a human. We hope you come out to a show and support four of your favorite semi-humans playing death metal while you still can. Cheers!”
While freshly released, this latest track traces its roots back to ideas first developed during the creation of 2020’s “Phylogenesis.” Frontman Charles Elliot also dedicated the song to the late Tomas “Tompa” Lindberg (At The Gates, etc.), who sadly passed away from cancer last month. Venom Inc. Silences The Critics In London
Metal fans love two things; Metal, and complaining about metal. Whilst the genre has some of the most loyal and devoted fans, it's nigh on impossible to go to a gig without hearing someone say "They used to be better" or "I only like their old stuff," and when it comes to online interactions between fans, forget it. Since their inception, Venom Inc. has had to deal with such negativity and with the recent departure of guitarist Mantas, the naysayers rubbed their hands in glee. But it's important to remember that they're not, and never were, a tribute act. Venom Inc. write songs of their own in addition to playing older Venom material, mostly from the Demolition Man era, and so when the band announced their headlining tour of Europe, with a rich lineup of support acts, it was both a test to see who would put their conceptions aside, and an invitation to what promised to be a great night.
The London stop of the tour was held at the 229, a relatively small but decent venue named after their address on Great Portland Street. Opening the show was Chilean born trio Ater, originally from Santiago and now residing in the USA. Going on at six on a Monday evening is a tough ask for anyone, but for those who arrived early, they were able to witness something very different, and very interesting. There's an air of mystery and enigma about them, and it's difficult to pinpoint their sub-genre, if indeed there is one, which makes their material all the more intriguing. The music is extreme and confrontational, but very atmospheric and moody, helped in no small part by the lighting, something we take for granted as fans. Ater are best experienced for one's self due to their challenging nature, and hopefully when they return to the UK, there'll be a lot more people there to witness them. One to watch for sure. More...
