"I trust that our anxiety and excitement alone might be enough to set the stage on fire even with the European cold weather! We're extremely proud for having the opportunity to share the stage with such a legendary band like W.A.S.P. We've played with lots of great bands before, headlined packed venues back home but this definitely feels special. The Rockstar Ramblings: The 80’s Album Razor Test

This week I give you my top albums from the eighties hair bands. Essentially a top twenty-five list, with a twist; imagine all of the albums from the eighties disappeared and you could no longer listen to this genre ever again, similar to 1992, but permanent. Unable to own the music, hear the music on the radio, or even listen to a song at a bar…what would you do to change this? Allow me to present the razor blade test. How many times will you cut yourself to bring a particular album back to your life? More...

The Rockstar Ramblings: Vote Slash for Office

Slash (Guns N Roses, Velvet Revolver) released his new solo album this week that includes a song sung by Ozzy Osbourne, “Crucify The Dead” containing the lyrics: "A loaded gun jammed by a rose/the thorns are not around your head/your ego cut you til you bled". Slash is adamant that the song is not about ex-band mate Axl Rose saying, “Yes, there were some key lines in there that were very suggestive of my experience. No, this is just an overall picture of the issues.” Prediction: We are two years from Slash running for a political office… More...

W.A.S.P. at Cubby Bear North

I have always had a soft spot for W.A.S.P. as the "Crimson Idol" is my second favorite metal album of all time after Faith No More's "Angel Dust." They're a legendary name in metal circles since 1984, W.A.S.P. to this day still manage to put out quality heavy metal while many of their 80s peers have stagnated or worse. Thankfully, W.A.S.P. is still together, still touring and while they may not have the same amount of popularity that they have in North America that they have in Europe, W.A.S.P. still manages to put on a kickass show twenty-eight years into their career. The Rockstar Ramblings: Kiss Steel Cage Challenge

Forget Atkins, Low-Fat, or the South Beach diet: Try the new Sebastian Bach (Skid Row) Red Wine Only diet. Week six of Celebrity Fit Club displayed Bach easily beating ex-R&B star Bobby Brown in a long-distance running challenge up a hill. I guess I should point out Brown’s chronic chain smoking and potato chip addiction, but those are just details. Try the Red Wine Only diet today!... More...

The Rockstar Ramblings: Howling and Smoking Hash

This week Axl Rose (Guns N Roses) and Slash traded tweets via Twitter related to getting the band back together. Slash started with a post related to putting together a concert to help the effort in Haiti. Axl took this to mean to put back the original GNR lineup and blasted Slash for using this tragedy as an excuse. Slash responded, clarifying his intent of raising money with a concert of many bands, not reuniting GNR. Always needing the last word it is rumored that Axl then followed up with a tweet that said simply: OK… More...

The Rockstar Ramblings: A Metal Video Marathon

Jon Bon Jovi alone increased acid washed denim sales by 40 percent. In the videos “Living on a Prayer” and “You Give Love a Bad Name” there are more ass shots of Jon than two years of Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez on TMZ…There is no way the Latin kid playing the drug lord in Motley Crue’s “Dr. Feelgood” rises to the top of the underworld…I always thought it was assumed Poison wore the most spandex until I saw the number of tight changes in David Lee Roth’s “Goin Crazy”…KISS easily has the most body hair of any rock band…The song “You’ve got Another Thing Coming” by Judas Priest takes on different meaning from when I first saw it years ago… More...

The Rockstar Ramblings: Side A Song 1

There was once a time when music wasn’t downloaded one song at a time, had (in the case of albums and cassettes) two sides (an A side and B side), and song order was not only a conscious decision, but a reason an album would be successful.

Today we look at the glam heavy metal scene (late seventies to early nineties) and review the best first tracks.
