Nebraska band Paria has issued the following statement about their upcoming album:
"The disease that infiltrates the current trend in music has been diagnosed, and the prescribed treatment is upcoming Paria release, The Barnacle Cordious. Care, detail, consternation and collective intuition lay the foundation for what will prove to be Paria's most respected album to date.
"Knee jerk reactions are the intention of this record, whether or not anyone agrees that these reactions are good ones, this album stands on its own. I'm fully prepared to defend that notion," guitarist John Claus said about the effort.
"Paria is aware of the importance of improvement and honing new skills, and while statements such as these may remain trite, The Barnacle Cordious is anything but cliché.

The band gives the following update on their new drummer and a change of direction on their next album:
"Brian Craig (vocals) has left the band for good to continue to persue his college education and Eric Schnee (drummer) left the band for personal reasons. We would like to thank both of them for all the commitment and dedication they put into the band in the the time they spent with us. The good news is that Corey Barnes (original drummer) has returned to the band and we have continued to write at full force. We have decided that this next album, which we are planning to record this spring to be released via Black Market Activities, is going to be instrumetal. We are still going to keep most of it heavy and intense, but we want to add a vast amount of influences and sounds into our music and we feel that having a vocalist may hinder us from achieving the amount of experimentation we want to do as well as take focus away from what the band is doing instrumentally. Our first show like this will be held January 27 in Omaha, NE at Sokol Underground with Ladyfinger. We plan on doing some short weekend tours as we continue to write our album and are planning on doing some more extensive touring in the summer."

Drummer Eric Schnee recently quit Omaha, NE metal band Paria to move back to his hometown in New Jersey and reform his old band, The Binding.
The band began practicing over Christmas break and is are already in the process of booking some weekend tours in the New England area plus a full U.S. tour this summer. Here's what drummer Eric Schnee had to say about the move:
"After a year or so of being away from the band, we have decided that it is time to resurrect this beast again and continue with what we started. We will be touring this coming summer, promoting our now critically acclaimed Self-Titled EP (Imagine It) starting in late June and going until July. I can't even begin to express how excited we are. I can guarantee the shows are something not to be missed. If my memory serves me correctly the damage count from our last outings goes something like this: one smashed guitar in Conneticut, drums flying off the riser in Virginia, One permanently damaged shoulder from the last tour and then the most infamous show in NJ where our drummer puked all over himself and never stopped playing."
Here is the planned tour routing. If you can help the group with any of the following dates, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Paria have issued the followig updated about recent ongoings:
"I know it's been a while since the last update, but not to worry, we have kept ourselves very busy writing our next album with our new drummer Eric Schnee from New Jersey's Imagine It Records band, The Binding. The writing process is going great thus far. We have two complete songs done (one is instrumental), one nearly complete one, and tons of ideas to work with. We are doing a lot of experimenting with our sound by adding more guitar effects and keyboards, continuing with the ball-breaking heavy riffs, but also writing some melodic instrumental material as well."
"In touring news, we are doing a short week long tour heading south with our ambient metal buds in Back When, as well as stand up comic and former bass player Tim Greenup. Ben Elliot from Killing Virginia will be filling in for us on vocals for the tour and possibly joining the band. The tentative routing is located conveniently below."

Vocalist Brian Craig has decided to leave Paria at the end of the summer to futher his education. Craig has been with the group for two years, appearing on both their EP and full-length, and will do one last (short) tour with the group at the end of July. States the group, "We want to thank him for all his contributions towards the band for the last two years and wish him the best with all future endeavors." Paul Pettit, formerly of Analog, will be filling in on the group's August tour on the East Coast. Anyone interested in trying out for the band should contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org. Meanwhile, in addition to Paria's July run with Analog and August East Coast tour, the band will be touring Canada briefly with Ion Dissonance in September.
Death merchants Paria need a new singer. That's because barker Brian Craig's decided to pull a Rodney Dangerfield and go back to school to "further his education and continue pursuing a career." In the meantime, former Analog frontman Paul Pettit's been called on to substitute during Paria's August tour. It's quite possible he may become a permanent member of the band.
Paria have finished a short tour with From A Second Story Window and are heading home to take a break and write. Here is the update:
"We are home from our east coast venture with our good pals From A Second Story Window. It was a short tour, but we had a great time playing shows and hanging out with those dudes. In that tour we played New England Metal Fest, which was a blast, as well as three dates with Minneapolis metal maniacs Nehemiah including their CD release show. Pictures from Metal Fest can be found here. We want to throw a special thanks out to those guys for having us for those three days and we wish them the best of luck with their new disc. Go pick it up kids!"
We will be home for the next two months (aside from Dustin who will be on tour with Analog) to write some new material for our next full length. We are planning on touring all of July and August as well as a short Canadian run with Ion Dissonance in September when their new CD on Abacus records is released. Plans are still in the works so keep checking back for that."
In other news, Schecter guitars have endorsed Paria. And Jones Soda has worked out a deal with the band and will be printing their album cover on 25,000 bottles of soda. They will be hitting shelves later this summer.
