Sweden's Graveyard has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's bassist and working on a new album:
"So, friends, listeners and music lovers. The touring cycle is over for this album and the future is here sooner than you would know. We'd like to thank everyone who has come out to our shows, bought the albums, wore their t-shirts proud and made this job one of the absolute best ones you can have.
"News from the graveyard is that our dear friend and bass player Rikard Edlund has decided to leave the band and pursue other musical ventures. No animosity between us. We know he will continue to be the riff master and wild child he's always been.
"That being said. We're working, harder than children in heat trying to get laid, on our next album. No release date or anything yet. It's done when it's done. But so far we're pretty fucking stoked on the stuff we've written.
"The next time earthlings will have the opportunity to enjoy Graveyard live again will be in Australia around the Golden Plains Festival in March. See you down under! Or up and beyond! Or behind?" More...
The final bands have now been announced for this year's edition of the Bloodstock Festival, which takes place from August 7th - 10th (get ticket info and other details over here). The organizers of the festival comment:
"The ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ finals have rocked to a conclusion and some more lucky young bands are joining the New Blood stage at Catton Park next month, plus there's a few last additions for the Sophie and Jagermeister stages.
"Balls Deep bring their trad groove metal to the Sophie Lancaster stage. The Brit outfit have been busy honing their ‘Pro-Pain cut with Black Sabbath’ sound, coming on like the bastard sons of Pantera and classic heavy metal.
"Over on the Jagermeister stage, female-fronted power metallers Aceldama will be impressing allcomers with their high octane performance and audience interaction, while New Blood stage stoner rocker’s Resin will be offering an additional acoustic spin on their new material.
"Meanwhile, the New Blood stage welcomes the last clutch of winners from the last batch of M2TM roadshow finals. Goat Leaf bring their doom groove from the Sheffield heats, Oakhaart’s tech death noise hails from Gloucestershire, impressing judges at the Bristol event, Sinpathetic grace us with their death metal from the Preston night, Eradikator’s thrash metal won out in Birmingham, and lastly but not least, Cacodaemonic's unholy, neo-classical infused death metal represents Nottingham."

Swedish classic rock superstars Graveyard have been confirmed as direct support for the upcoming European run of Soundgarden. Graveyard comments:
"We've been pretty fucking fortunate with the bands we've had the honour to open for. It's like taking a walk through our record collections, or just through rock history. When you list some of them, it comes off as pretty unreal – Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, and Motorhead. And now - Soundgarden! Not so superunknown guys these days. And with the words of a californian rock dude: Pretty fucking bad ass musicians that can deliver a bunch of face melting jams and shred like there's no tomorrow!
"There isn't really much more to say than that. Of course we're super excited to head out on tour with Soundgarden. In a way it's quite logic. If you think about what the roots of their and our music are. We certainly got one or two things in common there, so hopefully people will see it as good match making?“

Without giving away too much there will be a touch of Alfred Hitchcock, it will involve nighttime activities and last but not least Joakim will be back on vocals again for this one. Expect the unexpected, but with a title like 'Endless Night' you're in for something to remember ... Lights out."

Graveyard has released the artwork for the band's upcoming third studio album, "Lights Out," which can be viewed below. The new release is due out in Europe on October 26th and in North America on November 6th via Nuclear Blast.
“The cover is something completely different than the last cover,” states the band. “Our goal was that both the title and the cover would sum up the feeling of the album. And just to make things clear, Lights Out is not a reference to either UFO or Entombed… even though both are excellent bands.” More...
Graveyard has announced details about an upcoming new single release, titled "Goliath." The track comes off Graveyard's next album, "Light's Out," due October 26th (EU) and November 6th, 2012 (NA) via Nuclear Blast Records.
The "Goliath" single will be released September 21st, 2012 as a digital download and on 7“ vinyl. The release will include a special non-album track, "Leaving You." The 7“ vinyl version will be issued in four different colors, featuring four different cover artworks!
Commented the band: "The lyrics deal with the feeling that everyday life is a constant David vs. Goliath scene. You all know the story and the scene. You look around, get pissed off and want to 'stick it to the man.' Musically it has many influences. And as usual we've tried to get it both heavy and swinging at the same time. So why don't you just shake your record collecting old ass to the beat of the new tune from your favourite Swedish numbskulls?“
The band also commented on the new album's upcoming, currently unreleased, artwork: "The cover is something completely different than the last cover. It has a lot to do with the title, Light's Out. Our goal was that both the title and the cover would sum up the feeling of the album. And just to make things clear, Light's Out is not a reference to either UFO or ENTOMBED. Even though both are excellent bands.“ More...
Sweden's Graveyard has set "Lights Out"as the title for the band's next album, which is set to be released October 26th, 2012 via Nuclear Blast. Commented drummer Axel Sjöberg about the album title:
"The title 'Lights Out' sums up the feeling of the new album, and a feeling that we have. That these times that we live in are strange times, where no one really sees anything straight/the way they are."
About the cover of the upcoming album, Sjöberg adds: "We all know that both we and pretty much everyone was really excited about the cover of 'Hisingen Blues.' So we had to come up with a really strong idea to match the strength of that cover. It's just about finished now, but even without having seen the final version, we are convinced that no one will be disappointed by the cover to 'Lights Out.' We've worked with several people that all added their part, and as the saying goes in Sweden: the sum of the parts is bigger than the parts alone. So sharpen your raven's hatches and get ready for 'Lights Out.'"
Sweden's Graveyard has announced new upcoming European tour dates for this coming March. Commented the band:
“After finishing an absolutely amazing year camp Graveyard was supposed to tour the US and then slow down and start working on songs for the next album. But after an great tour with the gods of Motörhead, a couple of great dates with the legends in Deep Purple and a sold out show in our hometown of Gothenburg we figured that we weren’t quite done with the touring just yet. With that said we’re glad to inform you that Graveyard are getting back in the van and will as always be beyond ready to bring you one more round of Graveyard live!!!”

Nuclear Blast has issued the following announcement about Graveyard returning to the U.S. for new tour dates:
"After months of overseas arm wrestling plus a little bit of back-island voodoo shenanigans that we can't even begin to comprehend, we're proud to announce that the GRAVEYARD guys are finally back. Here. As in 'gonna play the States again.' Which forces us to ask, 'America, ARE YOU READYYYYYYYY?!?!?!' These Swedish Demigods of Psychedelic Classic Rock slayed everyone within earshot of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival this past June. Don’t miss them. That’s an order."
Graveyard drummer Axel Sjöberg checks in about the band’s eminent return:
“At last the circumstances of life and the music industry has allowed us to return to the land of infinite highways and corrupt bankers. Of mighty nature and excellent thrift stores. Of micro breweries and good Mexican food (which you can't find in Gothenburg). Yes ladies and gentlemen, the boys in the 'yard are returning to the U S of A in January, 2012. A good way to start the new year and an excuse to get fucked up and enjoy some good rocking music.
“With us on our travels across the nation are the very skillful musicians of Radio Moscow. With natural talent and relentless touring they are bound to leave jaws hanging and people wondering what just happened. Blues rock the way it's meant to be played.”

Sweden's Graveyard has been confirmed as the supporting act for the German leg of Motorhead's European tour in November.
Commented the band: "This year is getting more and more unbelievable for us. As it if it wasn't enough that we got the chance to open for Maiden in our hometown, now we're gonna go on tour with the essence of rock'n'roll - Motörhead!! Once again we feel deeply honoured to get a sort of approval to step into rock history by opening for Motörhead. And when you're talking about Motörhead, there's no way of getting around talking about Lemmy. That cat has always been an inspiration to us, all the way from Sam Gopal to Motörhead. Not only musically through his combination of psychedelia, rock and punk. But also through his relentlessness, something we hold very high in the Graveyard camp. But let's not forget that we also get to go on tour with a fellow Gothenburger - Mikkey Dee - the magic stikks wizard!"

Gothenburg, Sweden based act Graveyard has offered a track-by-track commentary on the nine songs comprising the band's new studio album, "Hisingen Blues." The 100% analog recorded release will be out in Europe on March 25th. The band's breakdown can be found below.
Ain’t Fit To Live Here: Classic blues riffs, just harder and on speed, and filtered through 30-40 years of rock history. Lyrics - frustration and the feeling that you hate everybody.
No Good, Mr. Holden: Introspective lyrics. A doomy and gentle song at the same time. The song melodies really stand out on this one.
Hisingen Blues: A fast hard song about living fast and hard. Not your general song structure. Influenced by many different types of music.
Uncomfortably Numb: Jokingly, we've called it the power ballad of the album. Lyrics speaks for themselves. A touch of southern rock. Suitable for making love to. Maybe.
Buying Truth (Tack Och Förlåt): A bit more modern if you will, but hard and primitive. Get-drunk-and-fight-it-out vibe. Lyrics about nervous, fake, media/music industry people, and other asshole musicians that haven't got anything to bring to the table.More...
