"Melodic yet fragmented and led by the anguished growls of Denis Ungurean, the record is a primitive, thoroughly cheerless voyage through the various sounds and shades of suffering and despair, their grim, disconcerting hymns of negativity proving both elegant and suffocating."

Descend Into Despair Recruits New Members

Romania's Descend Into Despair has checked in with the following announcement about recruiting two new members:

"Two new members have joined our lineup and will contribute with musical ideas to our future release, 'The Bearer of All Storms.'

"Bogdan Florea will play rhythm guitar and Florentin Popa will play keyboards. It has taken us quite a while to find musicians who share our philosophy and musical principles so we welcome them aboard and hope that our days of collaboration are going to be long and productive.

"Only a drummer needs to be found now and we are going to be ready for live performances."

The band also previously commented on the upcoming "The Bearer of All Storms" album: "Our first release is going to be a concept album, consisting of seven parts (each representing a phase of the journey of an entity which bears the same name as the album). The entire material will flow like a single track, having no sudden transitions from one track to another."

Descend Into Despair Working On New Album

Descend Into Despair, which offered the "Vanity Devotion" EP as a free download earlier this year, has now issued the following statement about working on a full-length follow-up:

"We are working on our first full-length, entitled 'The Bearer of All Storms.' Our first release is going to be a concept album, consisting of seven parts (each representing a phase of the journey of an entity which bears the same name as the album). The entire material will flow like a single track, having no sudden transitions from one track to another.

"It is going to spawn on two CDs and neither of the tracks will be shorter than 10 minutes. We have been working on our next release for the past three years, even before Descend into Despair took birth.

"A release date has not yet been established, due to human resources (all the work will be done by just the two of us) but it will probably be out by the end of this year, but nothing is certain. We would like to thank all of our fans for their patience and we promise that this release is going to be a marvelous creation. Stay tuned for more...."
