The organizers of the upcoming Mountains of Death festival have checked in with the following update about the band lineup:
"The following bands are completing the line-up of Mountains of Death 2011: Incinerate (US), Modus Delicti (IT), To Violently Vomit (US), and Putrid Pile (US).
"All those who are giving themselves the trouble to check out the links on the billing list might wonder about the myspace address of To Violently Vomit... behind this name stands nobody less than the singular, legendary and since 1992 acitve Disgorge from San Diego... or at least the greater part of them! All the rest about disturbances and stories about the band you can read at another place and would go beyond the scope of this note.
"Almost unavoidable, there are some line-up changes. The following bands are not able to play: Ancient Necropsy (CO) and Ingurgitating Oblivion (DE)"
Brutal Bands recently announced the signing of Goregasm to a multi-album contract. The bans has been keeping a low profile of late, playing under the name Sadichist. GORGASM will enter Studio One on September 18th to begin recording their fourth studio album. Look for their new album along with a full line of merch and Brutal Bands package deals early 2011.
Scott of Brutal Bands comments: "I've been a huge Gorgasm fan since the early days of Stabwound Intercourse. So it is really an honor to have the opportunity to work with these guys. It was just a few weeks ago that I saw their first performance at CIM with the new 4 piece lineup performing under the name Sadichist. They were one of my favorite bands at the fest and an obvious crowd favorite as well. The return of Gorgasm will be felt around the world!"
Gorgasm drummer Kyle Christman adds: "I have always been a huge fan of Gorgasm myself, and I'm stoked as fuck to be a part of this. We as a whole have been working quietly at this for a while. We are excited to finally officially announce the news, and we're stoked about signing to Brutal Bands and entering the studio at last. We feel that this is our most brutal material yet, and long time fans won't be let down."
In the meantime, check out Goregasm on MySpace.
Sevared Records has announced the signing of brutal death metal band Gorgasm for the re-issue of the band's debut CD, "Stabwound Intercourse." Chicago’s GORGASM have parted ways with Shiven Records and are currently searching for a new label to release their forthcoming new album, tentatively set for a Spring 2008 release.
Luke from Shiven Records has posted the following update on their bands:
"Things are running full force. Gorgasm, Ekser, and Arbiter of Conceit are all in pre-production for new full lengths which will see release dates by the end of summer/early fall. And I can say that all of the new material from these guys is absolutely punishing. Definitely going to be must have records for any fan of heavy music. Gorgasm is going to be playing a few shows in the upcoming months most notably the Deathfeast Open Air festival in Germany and the Central Illinois Metal fest. In Germany you will see Gorgasm pulverize the stage along the likes of NAPALM DEATH, IMMOLATION, ABORTED, and many other completely punishing metal acts. In Illinois, Matt Bishop has put together a lineup that is goddamned near unstoppable. Gorgasm will be sharing the stage with VITAL REMAINS, IMPETIGO, MORTICIAN, SEVERED SAVIOR, and tons more so show up early, leave late, and support these guys."
Chicago-based based brutal death metallers GORGASM recently inked a deal with Shiven Records for a multi-project deal that will include a concert DVD, movie, re-releases from GORGASM's cellar and all-new merchandise. According to the label, "the DVD is going to have lots of extras, including footage from the actual recording of the new album, as well as live footage [from] European and U.S. fests! The guys are also going to be working on a music video soon! New bass player/vocalist will be announced soon."
Commented GORGASM drummer Tomasz Pilasiewicz: "We are very excited about our recent signing with Shiven Records. There's definitely going to be a lot of good things happening with GORGASM in '07. We are planning to enter the studio in July and have the album out by the end of October. We'll be appearing at couple of major U.S. and European fest and a full U.S./Canada/Mexico tour is being scheduled for the end of October — can't say with who at this moment, but it will be a kick-ass tour! New album is almost fully written. Personally, I think it will be the most complex, yet most 'catchy' GORGASM release so far. We have performed couple of new songs at some of our shows and crowd just went nuts!!! So, we will see if people will dig the whole alblum."

Two bands have dropped off next year's Maryland Death Fest, scheduled to take place May 27th and 28th 2006 at The Sonar in Baltimore, MD. Those bands are FISTFUCK and FRIGHTMARE. The following explanation has been posted on the Maryland Death Fest website:
"A band member in FISTFUCK had a personal matter come up and won't be able to travel to the US next May. It is not the bands fault, nor is it ours. The band has stated they will play shows in the US as soon as it is possible again.
Also, although FRIGHTMARE was the first band we confirmed for MDF IV, they have canceled. Now they don't want to make their appearance exclusive to MDF and that's the only explanation we can provide you. As frustrating as this for us, that's all we're going to say. "
