The Algorithm Announces Album Release

French electro-metal producer Remi Gallego (aka The Algorithm) has announced the details of a brand new album "Octopus4," alongside a Kickstarter campaign.

Set for release on June 2nd 2014, "Octopus4" follows the debut "Polymorphic Code," which generated an invite from ESPN (Disney) to write ten exclusive songs for the TV network. The new album will feature 12 tracks.

In association with Basick Records and underground gaming developers Rogue Star Games, the new album will be exclusively available in CD and digital formats as part of a funding development for a brand new shoot-em-up space fighter, intended for future release on PS4, Mac OSX, Linux and Windows PC platforms.

Starting today (March 20th 2014) fans can pledge towards the campaign and in return receive an extensive number of rewards, including copies of "Octopus4." Not only that; once development is complete and ready to launch, the game itself will also feature an entirely new soundtrack, also scored exclusively by The Algorithm.

Full details of the Kickstarter campaign including packages can be found right here. More...

The Algorithm To Release Album Through Basick

French dub-metallers The Algorithm will release "Polymorphic Code" on November 19th, 2012 via Basick Records. According to the label, "not only is this album wildly inventive and groundbreaking, it challenges the very existence of genre classifications and scenes all together."

A promo video for "Access Granted" can be viewed below, and you can also hear a non-live version of the song in the SoundCloud player available after the jump. Basick Records comments:

"The brainchild of talented producer Remi Gallego, The Algorithm infuse modern metal riffs and rhythms with a menagerie of electronic subgenres such as IDM, chiptune and breakcore, to concoct their own style of fiercely heavy music. Imagine a mash up electonrica driven breakdowns, djenty guitars, gut wrenching sub wobs and glitchy melodies all working together to fluidly pummel your head into the future."

The album's track listing is as follows:

1. Handshake
2. Bouncing Dot
3. Trojans
4. Access Granted
5. Logic Bomb
6. Warp Gate Exploit
7. Null
8. Panic More...

Basick Records Announces HMV Showcase

Basick Records has confirmed that the label will be showcasing its talent at the annual new music festival HMV’s Next Big Thing.

On Monday, February 6th 2012 the label will be taking over one of London’s most infamous venues, The Camden Barfly, to showcase live sets from progressive metal king Chimp Spanner along with French pairing Uneven Structure and The Algorithm, the latter performing with the much talked about young drumming phenomenon Mike Malyan.

Chimp Spanner will also be releasing his new record "All Roads Lead Here" on the very same day, as such this showcase will be doubling up as a release party.

Basick Records Director Barley comments: "2012 is going to be a HUGE year for BASICK in many different ways, so HMV presenting us with an opportunity to showcase the label's rapidly growing international roster is a real honour! CHIMP SPANNER will be releasing his brand new record in conjunction with the event, so we want to see everyone turn out to make it a party we'll never forget!"
